I was perusing next week's Enquirer article in question at the grocery store this morning and would appreciate it if someone has the full text.
Perhaps the maid was angry about not being paid for her efforts, since money doesn't seem to be a problem for Rush unless he was hiding the financial transactions from Marta.

Try this on for size, the maid knows Rush is hooked, goes our and buys a bunch of them illegaly on her own intending to blackmail Rush into buying them for a price that would leave her sitting pretty. Rush refuses, maid runs to the tabloids outing Rush as being hooked on painkillers, and making up this story about her being his shopper and still being owed money. There's gotta be a black helicopter involved in your theory somehow.

You are so right. I think that if I were this maid, I would learn to keep my mouth shut before I went to prison!

Uh...how could we possibly know she's telling the truth? Talk about scraping th ebottom of the barrel for a story. This is the leftist rumor mill doing the same to Rush they've been doing to Bush. It's nothing but BS.
As for the "doctor shopping", there were 3 doctors: one his personal physician, who referred him to two different specialists. One ear nose and throat specialist and one bone man. Normal procedure. Hardly doctor shopping.

He has been dropping hints for two weeks....
Pay attention everytime he uses the term EXTORTION. He will emphasize that term and often say
"Extortion.... Hummmm... That sounds awfully familiar..."

Is that the same Enquirer issue that has a typically ugly picture of Hillary on the cover with the headline: "Hillary Can't Run Because She's Gay?" Maybe they didn't have enough space on the cover. But I would change the headline: Hillary Can't Run Because She's a Marxist, Socialist, Communist."
But then again, under my headline she COULD run. In fact, she'd just be one of the Dems presidential pack!

If I'm not mistaken, the husband of the maid had something to do with a pharmacy. How about this -- Someone using confidential information to buy a LOT of pills from the manufacturer? Or something similar?

I think the US Trust Bank in New York is the one that started the paper trail on Rush about the withdrawals Actually US Trust bank was fined $10,000,000 by the feds for telling their numerous wealthy clients (of which Rush was one) to please keep their withdrawals under $10,000 so the bank did not have to create the "paper trail". The Bank asked their customers to do this when withdrawing cash, and the bank was found guilty for doing that.
So the Rush made 30-40 $9000+ withdrawals was a result of the banks doing. Now, that is not to say that Rush was not getting the money to pay for his meds -- that we do not know.
But, it is a disingenuous argument to say that Rush was planning his withdrawals to cover his tracks and the bank was keeping a "paper trail" of his activities.

The husband is an Ex-con with a history of Drug related arrests. You may be getting him confused with the Maids story that she used a pharmisist or something to get the meds for Rush.

Well maybe if the b*tch had kept her mouth shut, she'd have gotten her money and then some.

I can even put into words how I feel about what is happening to Rush. But I have a few thoughts about the matter.
This is obviously a witch hunt aimed at destroying Rush. Admittedly, Rush would not find himself in this situation had he stayed clear of using in the first place but what is done is done. He has admitted to his addiction, sought treatment and seems to sincerly be trying the kick the habit.
Having said that, this latest move is just insane. Doctor shopping. This would be like the police investigating your 18 year old son on drug suspicions and then going out and looking for past crimes he committed to support his habit. Interviewing relatives, friends, etc. seeing if they were ever missing any cash or objects, things of that nature.
Was there ever a big investigation into the activity of, say, Robert Downey, Jr.'s activities or contacts or that idiot that stars on friends (Chandler) who had a painkiller addiction a few years back?
This is scary stuff and right out of the Stalin play book, IMO.
I also think we should show a way to show our support for Rush. Anybody got any ideas?

And a last thing, this story is insane. Rush owes this criminal money and they are acting like it is a genuine debt. Like he is six months behind on his electric bill. Am I losing my mind or is the world this far gone?

"I was surprised by that comment given his recent drug related problems."
I was surprised at first when I read about his peyote comment on FR, but perhaps he meant it in the context of religious beliefs. The woman sentenced for nursing/speeding claimed a religious belief for her defense. Perhaps Rush meant the peyote comment in connection with peyote being used in Native American ceremonies. Just a guess, but then it would only count if Rush was part Native American.

It seems to me the first rule of doing illegal drug transactions is to take care of the seedy dealer you're doing business with. Sorry, but it's the truth.

People are stilling assuming the maid told the truth the whole truth, or even a partial truth Well, she said Rush was a doper and that turned out to be true, didn't it? That does give her some credibility

So if my friend Rollo suggests that we go rob the local Quicky Mart, and he and I commit the crime, do you think its a valid defense to the criminal charge for me to say "It was all Rollo's idea"? Nope, it's not.

So the Rush made 30-40 $9000+ withdrawals This is not unusual in New York City with wealthy people. Two days in New York City can eat $1000 (and that is not tourist).
