I arrived at Hospice Woodside Wednesday afternoon at about 4:15 p.m. I waited for a deluxe table to accommodate the lovely floral arrangement for the Schindler Family from freeper gwb and gop man, also on behalf of talk radio in Savannah, Ga and floriduh voter.
The flowers arrived before gwb and gop man and I drove them to Hospice Woodside with other decorations for Free Republic's table #8.
Freepers, the theme for our table went back to the founding fathers. Printed artwork from Dover Publications was of lady liberty standing side by side with an eagle, a town crier crying "Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Terri's forty!", and another eagle with a banner with "Protection" on it.
In addition, the donation cup on Free Republic's table consisted of a flag, a small gavel taped onto it and hanging on by a twist tie, my Daniel Webster beanie baby. Daniel just happened to be carrying a cloth book entited "LAW". Daniel Webster made some cash for the Foundation.
I brought a large crystal drum of the fife and drum variety filled with peppermints and butter rum candies.
I brought my Photo Album that documented October 13th. In addition, thanks to another freeper, I printed out a 17 page list of all the threads that were posted for Terri at Free Republic through November 18, 2003. I put Free Republic's Logo in a stand up picture frame and also wore my name tag from the Friva Conference held in Las Vegas in August of 2001.
There were also pewter battery-type candles on our table by the floral arrangement of white roses, iris's, stattis, baby's breath, day lilies, etc. All of the above came together on a long table that I held out for.
Please bookmark this thread and hopefully, when other freepers in attendance and myself get our film developed, we could put our jpegs in one location. Please excuse all the "I"s but this is my account from a freeper's perspective. Unfortunately, Buffy the chicken was not in attendance. If you'd like to see her picture again, let me know.

Can you kindly explain to me what specifically is so dignified about being dehydrated to death?

They will not cause us to pull a thread. If they are trolls, we will eventually know it. It's all the other instances of pinging mods to individual replies and the number of abuse reports we've received.
If you have a different opinion on any other topic, would you want us to pull your posts because you disagree? There are no posting guidelines broken for posting disenting opinions that would justify pulling some of these posts.
Regarding going over all the facts with newbies, just point out where those facts can be found. If you haven't already done it, why not make a thread with all the useful links to help new posters out? Many people register to learn and understand issues. Not everyone may be up to speed on all the minute details as some of you who have been following this issue. That's one of the great things about Free Republic. We all learn from each other's knowledge.

Please don't presume to speak for me. The problem is that there isn't a monolithic view among conservatives as to end of life issues. I, and the majority of conservatives, hold that the state, church and family members should not exercise undue control over end of life issues.
Let me put it another way. My life and my death belong to me. The state, courts and family members have limited interest in those rights. I don't yield my rights to others. In fact I claim them as my own. To the extent this applies to Terri's situation, she has the same rights.

Terri has retained rights herself as a matter of fact, just like you do. She had no living will; no advanced directives. You proclaim that you have rights but Terri does not. I hate hypocrisy but I love birthday parties.

To the extent this applies to Terri's situation, she has the same rights. Then maybe you shouldn't take the side of letting her husband speak for her.

Press Release from terrisfight.org:
Clearwater, FL December 3, 2003: People from as far away as the West Coast of the United States are expected to convene today at the Hospice Woodside in Pinellas Park, Florida, to recognize the 40th birthday of Terri Schindler-Schiavo.
The support for Terri has been overwhelming. Our family is touched by the tremendous outpouring of love and encouragement for our daughter, said Terris mother, Mary Schindler.
Jeanie Dicus of California has hand-crafted a quilt with lavender flowers and intricate needle-work for a gift. Cheryl Ford of Florida has put together a collage of photos from people around the world who support the disabled woman and her plight. Several hundreds of hand-made birthday cards have been sent to Terri through the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation, many of these from citizens in the disabled community. Supporters have purchased other items, including birthday cakes and balloons in the hopes that Terri would be allowed out of her room to join in her birthday celebration. Moreover, upwards of 600 emailed prayers and personal notes have been received through Terris web site on www.terrisfight.org.
Supporters are expected to gather shortly after business hours on Wednesday, December 3, 2003, to engage in quiet support and to acknowledge Terris birthday.
Statement from Pamela Hennessy, Volunteer for the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation: It is so very good to know that so many people see Terri as a person and not an issue. This gives us all pause to remember those amongst us who may not be able to speak for themselves but who are still, very much part of our human race.

I apologize for being suckered into participating in an off-topic digression from the original subject. I believe what you intended for this thread [please correct me if I'm wrong']was:
1. To let people who were not there what it was like at a FR gathering Terri's 40th birthday.
2. To encourage those who were there to post their pictures of the event in one place.
To the second one, I had a question. Did you want the photos sent to you or do you intend for you or someone else to start a separate thread for all of the pics taken.
I wasn't there, would like to see them.

If anyone finds pictures of the December 3rd birthday party on the internet or took pictures themselves at Hospice Woodside, I'm inviting them to post either kind of jpegs on this thread.
GENERAL REQUEST: If anyone can recommend a free hosting site freepers can use to get their photos here, please post that url here.
If freepers don't know the posting formula, do a search to visit the HTML Sandbox. Thanks. FV

"
Yes, I support Terri's right to go to a better place. Let her go."
Alri-i-ighty, Whee, why don't you just run off to that "better place" yourself, first. I mean, just HOW can you be sure it is a better place?
Live up to your own words. Who the heck would NOT want to go to a better place? So by your own ADVICE, please go there. Starve yourself, first.
Make it a "better place" for all of us.

If you check out the 2nd set of jpeg hyperlinks by phenn, the Free Republic table is the lavender table on the RIGHT where it belongs. That's floriduh voter in #15 and gwb and gop man in #16. If the photos are clickable to enlarge, you can get a good view of the flowers on the freeper table.

What is AOL's problem? I can save the pictures, but cannot make them larger. The way they save to my hard drive they are very tiny (yes, I did click to make them larger first). I would be happy to post some of them if somebody can find a way to make them save larger. If I try to enlarge them with my photo program, they're just a blur.

Okay. I guess that answered my previous question. Can someone then email them to me and I will post them? I have server space.

I'm not running into any dramas at all on that, using Internet Exploder. I can try to scarf all the images and put them on zimp.
