FREE REPUBLIC'S PATRIOTIC TABLE AT TERRI SCHINDLER-SCHIAVO'S 40th BIRTHDAY FREE REPUBLIC'S TABLE
Conservative-Spirit.Org | December 5, 2003 | floriduh voter

Posted on 12/05/2003 10:50:39 AM PST by floriduh voter

I arrived at Hospice Woodside Wednesday afternoon at about 4:15 p.m. I waited for a deluxe table to accommodate the lovely floral arrangement for the Schindler Family from freeper gwb and gop man, also on behalf of talk radio in Savannah, Ga and floriduh voter.

The flowers arrived before gwb and gop man and I drove them to Hospice Woodside with other decorations for Free Republic's table #8.

Freepers, the theme for our table went back to the founding fathers. Printed artwork from Dover Publications was of lady liberty standing side by side with an eagle, a town crier crying "Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Terri's forty!", and another eagle with a banner with "Protection" on it.

In addition, the donation cup on Free Republic's table consisted of a flag, a small gavel taped onto it and hanging on by a twist tie, my Daniel Webster beanie baby. Daniel just happened to be carrying a cloth book entited "LAW". Daniel Webster made some cash for the Foundation.

I brought a large crystal drum of the fife and drum variety filled with peppermints and butter rum candies.

I brought my Photo Album that documented October 13th. In addition, thanks to another freeper, I printed out a 17 page list of all the threads that were posted for Terri at Free Republic through November 18, 2003. I put Free Republic's Logo in a stand up picture frame and also wore my name tag from the Friva Conference held in Las Vegas in August of 2001.

There were also pewter battery-type candles on our table by the floral arrangement of white roses, iris's, stattis, baby's breath, day lilies, etc. All of the above came together on a long table that I held out for.

Please bookmark this thread and hopefully, when other freepers in attendance and myself get our film developed, we could put our jpegs in one location. Please excuse all the "I"s but this is my account from a freeper's perspective. Unfortunately, Buffy the chicken was not in attendance. If you'd like to see her picture again, let me know.

Nancy aka floriduh voter

No, sweet liberty. Terri and all Hospice captives will be moved to Hospice on East Bay in Largo because Hospice Woodside which is a very nice structure, is being torn down for new construction of a new Hospice facility.

I'm thinking it will be more than one story. You know, more bedspace, more FEDERAL DOLLARS...

See my post to Sweet Liberty. Yes, Hospice is RENOVATING, being bulldozed to build a larger facility. Terri will be in Largo at the Hospice on East Bay Drive. I don't know that address. We will Vigil over there once we determine the layout and decide where they'll allow us to gather. This will be the Largo cops instead of the Pinellas Park PD.

Hospice has been tolerant of our Vigils outside. The way I see it, if they try to stop our freedom of speech and freedom of assembly, they'll just get more bad publicity such as they've received to date.

They are friends of Judges first and foremost but imo fear a backlash if they treat us badly. THEY FEAR OUR ABILITY TO GIVE THEM BAD PRESS ON A DIME.

It was great to see a forum break out on the end of FR's table. If you check sweet liberty's posts of the jpegs, our table's the lavender one where everyone's waving at the camera.

Windchime, Terri's not running for office but if she could, I'd want to be her campaign manager. Freepers' support and concern for Terri and her family embodies what grassroots activism can be. Together, we can help many or we can help one. WE CAN HELP.

Because Free Republic was born, the future is something we can actually work on.

Thank you, JR. floriduh voter

Thank you for following all the threads and I believe you ran your own branch office for Terri.

You're welcome! It just wouldn't have been sufficient to just say "you had to be there". I wish I knew what A & E was up to, though.

As gwb and gop man said, "you were there in spirit."

Thanks for dropping by. The troll alerts are fairly effective. The toughest but the best method to address true disruptors is to ignore them.

FYI for newbies: If you have a minute, there's a history of Free Republic thread. A FR search should be sufficient to find it.

Is this Largo Hospice close to the Pinellas one?

Thanks for stopping by. There will be more pictures. It's kinda chilly here today. If the sun comes out tomorrow, lol, I'll run to a one hour lab. I shot a closeup of FR's centerpiece floral arrangement which we presented to Terri's mom, Mary Schindler. She looked adorable walking around with the arrangement during the take down of all the tables and decorations.

That hay we stand on is hallowed ground. Where we gather is like a non-denominational church under the stars and it's nice to see a happy family with a hundred of their closest friends.

When we're there, even if it's only one Terri supporter, it's a brighter place.

Beyond the wide brick wall that separates us from the facility, it's another story. However, they didn't interfere with the birthday party.

Maybe all Hospice could think of to show their dismay was to order the cards be removed from Terri's room. The hand made cards by children ended up on the gift table though. FV

Aw shucks, hundreds of friends of Terri did as much or more than I did. What we really did was UNITE and then bug everyone we knew to help us.

Aunt Maxine from Sioux Falls, SD (Daschle & Brokaw Country) tells us that people are writing Letters to the Editor of the Sioux Falls Argus Leader about Terri. THAT IS MAXIMUM EXPOSURE when Aunt Maxine reports in. If any SD freepers have quietly been helping Terri, thank you. FV

"What are they afraid of - that she might get sick and die?"

No, they're afraid that people, not to mention the media, will see her and realize that she is a real person and is alive. They might see that she responds. They might see something besides the image the HINO wants seen, then he wouldn't be able to perpetuate the lie any longer. As long as he can keep her image in people's minds as one of a brain dead vegetable who has no hope of improvement, he has a shot. If she is seen as she really is, he would lose his control over her. Why do you think he would not allow her family to take pictures of her or videotape her? I mean, if what he said was true, he would have nothing to worry about and any pictures or videotape should just prove his point, right?

And his claim that he is concerned about her privacy is hogwash. If she is a vegetable, as he claims, then she would have no need of privacy, and if she has need of privacy, she is not a vegetable. That is nothing more than legal jargon that Felos has spoon fed him to be regurgitated at the appropriate times. Besides, he lost any credibility he might have had in that regard when he got on Larry King and was talking about her gynocological "problems." No man concerned for his wife's privacy would even be that crass in a bar, let alone on national television.

From what I've heard, the other Hospice is northwest of Hospice Woodside on a major thoroughfare known as East Bay Drive. Hospice Woodside is tucked away off of 66th St. N.
