Mr Hooper is very busy these days: seeking an apology from Dr Laura, suing a Congressman from North Carolina, and now going after Paul Harvey.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is calling for an on-air apology from syndicated radio commentator Paul Harvey who said on his Thursday program that Islam "encourages killing."

Paul Harvey should apologize...unless he can come up with any examples of Islam "encouraging killing." Something like Islamics flying airplanes into towers, or blowing up civilians, or anything like that. Maybe he could do an internet search and see if he can find any examples...

I believe the Koran says you can enslave your non-Muslim enemies; I heard this if anyone can validate. If so, why the heck would Blacks in America be so interested in the Islamic faith? I mean, if the main "operating manual" for your religion says slavery is AOK, why would Black Americans be alright with it?

We traded swords with some Jehovah's Witnesses once. Of course, like the Muslim faith, they come in with a pitch on how simliar their Truth is to Christian Truth. But all the things under the surface (Christ is really the Archangel Micheal, no Trinity, no Heaven, etc.) is never mentioned until you are deeper into the faith. Same with the Muslims...there are all kinds of things "in the book" that are never addressed to the outside observer. I think we should all read the Koran, for the simple reason of understanding what the book says, and being ready to refute it.

Glenn Beck said yesterday that he has read "Mein Kampf" because he wanted to understand how perfectly normal, good-intentioned human beings could arrive at the point they don't bat an eye while trucks full of people pass their front door on the way to the concentration camps. Be aware of what the other guy thinks, and when he says, "Mine is the 'religion of peace", call him out.

First Mr. Harvey in our society has what we believe to be a God given right of liberty and the ability to follow his own convictions and beliefs--something not found in orthodox Muslim societies, like Saudi Arabia where conversion to Christianity is a crime.

Secong the Koran's prohibition of murder seems to be ignored by terrorists who wantonly take thousands of innocent lives in the name of their Islamic religion. Where is their condemnation of the attack on the World trade Center???

That's in the early or first portion of this book. The latter portion superceeds the first portion. As ole mo got more tribesmen and swords to destroy those who would not call him a scholar and a profit. The later portions says even the rocks and bushes will help you kill Jews. There is no peace in this religion only submission.

It would be nice if once, just once, these groups representing 'mainstream' Muslims would publicly and loudly denounce the radical fundamentalist elements in their religion and take steps to isolate them.

Perhaps they know that if they did, they might get killed, in the name of Islam of course.

I saw a post on FR just today where a Muslim leader said that there are two brands of Islam; one which embraces violence as means to an end and pursues a mindless fundamentalism. The other is more peaceful. These forms of Islam are at war around the world.

Isn't that sufficient condemnation?
