Ark. Plane Crash Kills Whitewater Lawyer

HARRISON, Ark. (AP) - A lawyer who pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge filed by Whitewater prosecutors died Thursday when the small plane he was piloting crashed while trying to land at an airport, officials said.

John Haley, 72, who was once the personal lawyer of former Arkansas Gov. Jim Guy Tucker, had recently joined a new law firm. A partner, Peter B. Heister, confirmed Haley's death.

One passenger, Farish Kincaid, 70, also was killed in the crash. Authorities said the men, both from the Little Rock area, apparently were due at a business meeting in Harrison.

Haley and Tucker were accused in 1995 of setting up a sham bankruptcy to hide profits from a business deal. Haley pleaded guilty and was fined and ordered to pay restitution.

Tucker pleaded guilty in the case, and was also convicted in a separate trial on fraud charges involving James and Susan McDougal, the partners of President Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Whitewater land deal. Tucker was sentenced to probation and home detention.

The Clintons were never charged in connection with Whitewater.

Haley's Bonanza single-engine, two-seat aircraft crashed in a ravine about 300 yards south of the Boone County Airport in northwestern Arkansas, Sheriff Danny Hickman said.

The National Transportation Safety Board planned an investigation.

would also like to say that the latest article page still looks fine in netscape. It just when you are tring to read the articles themselves. There are line breaks or paragraph breaks missing between the typed text and the forum text. All the links are blue on the latest articles page as normal. But they are red within the article.

City parks employees, working on a softball complex about a quarter-mile from the airport on the city's north side, said the airplane was dumping fuel before it made an attempt to land. The parks workers said they could smell the fuel as it dropped around them.

This would just be an interesting anecdote were it not for the inconvenient detail that Bonanzas don't have fuel pumps that dump fuel.

Might be interesting still. Did the loss of fuel have anything to do with the plane going down? At least two tanks; Were both holed? Does the Beech switch tanks automatically, or does it have a three-way valve? Would a hole in one tank drain fuel from both?

I think the timing of this is pretty curious because of the recent revival of the Vince Foster case being in the news again. I was hearing something out of the side of my ear that someone is suing for evidence from that case to be made public. Anyone have better details on that than I do?

BTW, can someone invent the wheel for me and explain to me why Hillary's nick name here is "Crusty?"

It would be sufficient for the hose from the fuel pump to work loose, or break. No fuel to engine, and the fuel would spray out.

I'm not really worried about myself.
I am in my late 50's and have had a good life so far but am realistic enough to know that life is finite.
I am worried about my kids and grandkids having to grow up in a world dominated by the likes of the Clintons.

There was a incident up in New Yawk the other day where a bunch of subway workers were overwhelmed by obnoxious fumes. Several taken to the hospital. Authorities thought it might be a terrorist attack but it turned out that:

Hillary finally decided it was time to change her pantyhose

Who would run with her?

Anyone not very bright, naïve, who doesn't think it can happen to them, is charmed by the clintons, wants access to their campaign warchest, who has a lust for power, and doesn't think they can win without her.

IOW, any of the nine dwarfs.
