This thread serves as a place for posting all new general information and references, along with links following Terri's case, plus information on cable news and talk radio shows dealing with the issue, court cases and press releases. This is also the place to post contact information, prayers and general discussion.

If you have something that qualifies as BREAKING NEWS or FRONT PAGE NEWS, please post it on a separate thread in that category in order to give it maximum exposure and then post a link to the article/thread here so that it will be included in the next update of links. Also, if you post links to articles from original sources and there is also a thread on FR, please link to the FR thread. Many original links become corrupt over time and we want to be able to access the information at will.

You will notice that this thread is not specifically dated. That is because we are just going to keep this one going until we have need of another one.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that You have intervened within the courts on behalf of this mother's child. Thank You, Gracious God, that You have set aside one judge who publicly ruled in a case not yet heard. We praise You that You have intervened within the inner workings of the courts, whether rumor is true or not. O God, we are in tears at the thought of anyone gambling on the life of one so innocent, but we are reminded that there were those who gambled for your robe. The depths of the depravity of man knowns no bounds ... may the light of Your truth shine into the pit of this darkness, that this horrendous injustice be swept away.

Father God, we continue to seek that one judge who will rule righteously and well ... someone who is like minded that all people have equal protection under the law. May there be nothing but the beauty of the law that is upheld ... not personal opinion or political agenda or favored positions. Grace Terri's legal team with nothing but the beauty of the law, and may they be eloquent and fierce and impassioned on behalf of this wounded child. Quickly rescue her from her prison ... renew her family with zeal and fervor, lest they tire from the weight of years of denial.

Thank You, Merciful Father, that the affairs of men are before You as an open book, whether for ill or good. May the Spirit of God work in our hearts that we continue to speak Terri's sweet name before the Throne of Grace ... and may Your sweet Spirit work in the hearts of those who seek Terri's death, that they repent before it is too late. Thanks for the ping. This sounds real good. I read the bio you provided. She sounds like a no nonsense type of person.

Let's just hope she's not part of the good old boy network trying to kill this poor woman by starvation and dehydration.

It does look like we are having some effect on Terri's case at least by keeping this story alive.

I wrote to Alan Keyes and never received a reply. He has been asking for donations because of his help with this case. Yet he doesn't seem interested in answering email on Terri.

She could not be any worse than Baird, whose comments were so biased courthouse employees were betting on Terri's life! I hope she brings the gifts of insight and wisdom to this case, and allows the depositions requested by Jeb to proceed.

Judge: Priest can't keep talks secret

[Khouzam's] ruling focuses on the Rev. Robert Schaeufele's discussions with church officials after he was accused of abuse.

Just before Wolfson was dismissed by Baird, Jeb sent him a list of "10 Hang-ups in the Schiavo case" he wanted Wolfson to investigate:

Bush's three-page letter listing the questions he wants answered had not yet reached him, Wolfson said.
....Bush listed 10 areas he wants investigated, including what happened the night Schiavo's heart stopped in February 1990, cutting off oxygen to her brain and leaving her in what has been diagnosed as a persistent vegetative state.

The governor also asked about ``statements of law enforcement, emergency medical professionals and staff members of medical facilities where Schiavo was treated.'' He asks what husband Michael Schiavo, his wife's legal guardian, said ``at the time regarding her condition and how she was found.''

Bottom line, I do not think Felos is pleased with Baird's replacement, and anytime Felos is unhappy with developments, that's good news for Terri's side! :)

This is a normal rotation of judges.

Every Circuit Court in Florida rotates judges between divisions periodically. This is done by an Administrative Order by the Chief Judge, in this case The Honorable David A. Deemers, Chief Judge of The Sixth Judicial Circuit.

This change of judges has nothing to do with any misconduct, suspicion of predjudice or anything else out of the ordinary, rather it is the result of Administrative Order No. 2003-056 PI-CIR, which was signed and ordered on the 29th day of August, 2003.

Correction: It was Judge Demers, not Baird, who dismissed Wolfson.

While what you say may be true, it appears that Baird's biased comments and leaks about the employee betting pool have come back to disgrace him. Amid allegations of improper comments and behavior by courthouse employees, Baird may have no choice in the matter of whether he retains control of the Schiavo case (and control seems to be what's at stake here) or not. And, if Khouzam's assistant says she is now handling the Schiavo case, there is every reason to believe she is not mistaken. Baird needs to face reality and let go!

I know he is deeply involved with Judge Roy Moore and the 10 Commandments, but IMO the Schiavo case and it's ramifications is equally important, if not more so, as it directly impacts people's lives. Stopping the euthanasia agenda should be a priority for any pro-life, conservative politician in 2004.

Terri's case has made the national media Top 10 list of important issues of 2003. I would rather see "Thou shalt not kill" put into practice vs. put on display. Euthanasia advocates, the ACLU and the Hemlock society aka 'End-of-Life Choices' are the very forces who seek to transform the US into a socialist, atheistic society. If they are not stopped, I fear the battle over the 10 Commandments and classroom prayer will be lost.

TERRI SCHIAVO CASE: After doctors removed the brain-damaged woman's feeding tube Oct. 15, unprecedented action by the state Legislature, which passed "Terri's Law" on Oct. 21, allowed Gov. Jeb Bush to order the tube's reinsertion. The new state law triggered a legal challenge by Terri Schiavo's husband, Michael. He has battled his wife's parents in court since 1998 because he says his wife would not want to be kept alive by artificial means.

My prayers are still pouring out on her behalf. I am hopeful that Terri will soon be brought into the loving guardianship of her family. Once again, Ron Panzer will be hosting a special edition of Highway 2 Health Radio focusing on Terri Schindler-Schiavo. On Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at 10.00pm ET, Mr. Panzer will be discussing Terri with world renowned neurologist, Dr. William Hammesfahr of Clearwater, Florida.
 
Dr. Hammesfahr evaluated Terri and gave testimony on his conclusions during the 2002 trial. He stated that not only is PVS an incorrect assessment of Terri's condition, but also that she can be greatly improved with new therapies. Dr. Hammesfahr specializes in a number of successful therapies and has offered to treat Terri, citing that she is an excellent candidate for rehabilitation.
 
Dr. William Hammesfahr was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology in 1999 and has been called "the first physician to treat patients successfully to restore deficits caused by stroke" by Judge Susan Kirkland of the Florida Department of Health. His patient success rate is an amazing 80%.
