[history]
Sandra Jolly said her 6-year-old son's Christmas was spoiled when his teacher told the first-grade class Monday that "Santa Claus is make-believe."
"He had this sad, lost puppy dog look on his face. This unhappy, empty look," Jolly said. "He said his teacher informed the entire class that Santa is make-believe."

It was awful
I'm sorry to hear that :-(
I've been really disappointed at parades, too, and now the only ones we go to are for Veterans Day.

I like your Freepin tools.... perhaps we could also require them to type "I believe in lowering taxes" as their first post?
I do believe they would suffer physical damage just during the attempt.

It may bring a sparkle in the kid's eyes for awhile, but it seems to me that you aren't being much of a parent if you have to resort to fairy tales to get them excited.

>>First they insisted that Santa was 'real'; then they 'laughed' about it. Laughed... I HATED them for that. I trusted them implicitly, I wanted to believe them, and I was betrayed over something as stupid as Santa. So, if my parents would lie to me about Santa; everything they have said and promised since then has been suspect.<<

The teacher may be right, but she's also a moron. No, the parents who keep propagating the mythic figure of him are liars. There was a real man named Saint Nicholas. He was a Christian bishop in Asia Minor (present-day Turkey) in the first centuries Anno Domini. Or better yet, celebrate Christmas as someone else suggested.

It's an NEA insect. I'm surprised she didn't tell them that Jesus is fake, and Santa DOES exist.

Eddie Izzard is the funniest man I've ever seen in my life.... I didn't think I'd like him until I heard his act, he is brilliant!!!
Or should I say, "Fantabulous!"

At the very least, a Freeper entrance exam should ask who the VP of the USA is! (cross-reference to Sean Hannity's Street Exams...)

Yes! Amazing or disgusting, isn't it, how few can name VP Cheney? I hope they don't vote.
