Local supporters gathering at advertising executive's home

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will raise a few bucks as well as sign a few books while she is in town this week.
Clinton's visit to Austin will begin tonight with a fund-raising reception at the home of local advertising executive Roy Spence, a longtime friend and supporter of the Clintons.
The New York Democrat will be at Book People at 10 a.m. Friday to sign copies of her book "Living History."
Spence said response for the fund-raising reception has been very strong. He could not offer an estimate on how much money will be raised or how many people will attend.
Admission price for the private reception was set at $2,000 for hosts, $1,000 for sponsors and $500 for guests.
"I think Hillary Clinton has got a future on a national level beyond the United States Senate," said Spence, acknowledging that the former first lady is among the more polarizing personalities in politics.
"She is one of those people that from the Democratic standpoint has, from the start, a national constituency," Spence said. "She also has a national constituency that doesn't like what she stands for, but she has a very strong national constituency that is proud of what she is all about."
Spence said he has talked to Clinton about long-range political plans. "I don't think it's the time" for a presidential race now, he said. "I wouldn't rule it out next time."
Spence backs Connecticut Sen. Joseph Lieberman for the Democratic presidential nomination. His wife, Mary, supports Gen. Wesley Clark.

Oh, I can't STAND this! Hillary is coming to town, and I'm sick as a dog, stuck in bed with the flu. Not going to be able to make it, don't want to spread my germs to you guys.
Anybody got a devil mask? It's become traditional with an "I sold my soul to Hillary" sign, ya know! She expects to see Ol' Scratch at these things.
Here's the store's webpage announcing Her Heinous's appearance:
Hillary at BookPeople
Check out this part:
We have a lot of good experience with signings this size," said events coordinator Alex Pippard. "Lance Armstrong signed 700 books in the hour he was here. The line can be really daunting to look at, but once it gets moving, it goes really fast." The line for Lance Armstrong's book signing wrapped around the store, down Sixth street, almost reaching Lamar. Fans began voluntarily lining up at 5:30am. However, if you have purchased a voucher [for Hillary] in advance, BookPeople recommends lining up between 8am and 9am. BookPeople opens at 9am. Getting in line a little early is a good idea. BookPeople employees will be making announcements about the event and serving coffee in the line.
It's killing me not to be able to join you guys. Someone tell the Senator that during wartime, partisanship MUST stop at the water's edge, how DARE she go overseas and criticize our troops' mission? Someone explain it to the Marxist for me! Good luck, gang, and have fun! Looking forward to the after-action report.
PS: Someone please find out how much they were selling the get-in-line vouchers for, I'm really curious!

From Publishers Weekly
Whether or not you believe that the Clintons were victims of what Hillary calls a "vast right-wing conspiracy," this memoir has enough information and personality to appeal to people on both sides of the political fence. Most will not be surprised by Clinton's reading style, as it is similar (though not nearly as formal) to the manner in which she has delivered many television addresses. Her Midwestern accent is evenly pitched and pleasant. She easily laughs at herself, and fluctuations in her delivery render her emotions nearly palpable. Indeed, the casual straightforwardness of her delivery will engender a sense of trust and respect in listeners.
Though she does not offer much new material, she is adept at disclosing many "backstage" details-from the personal, like her inner feelings about the Lewinsky scandal ("the most devastating, shocking and hurtful experience of my life"), to the humorous, like the time a mischievous Boris Yeltsin tried to coax her into sampling moose-lip soup. Her devotion to Chelsea, Bill and to her country feels genuine, as do her hopes for future.
All in all, her infectious sense of optimism and unwavering energy shine through in her delivery and will leave listeners with a new respect for the former First Lady.

Most of the RATS in Texas know the boat is sinking but Austin/UT is one of the last fading hold outs. She's not meeting up with Ann at Hippy Hollow is she?

She's not meeting up with Ann at Hippy Hollow is she?LOL... Maybe that would make all the queers leave the area. Seeing those two together without clothes would make anyone exit first door left.

I talked to The Bat Lady on the phone earlier and things went very well! I'll let those who were actually there give the details (of all the times to get the flu, I can't believe I had to sit this one out!). I'm sure someone will post an After-Action Report Thread soon.
Watching DrewsDad right now on Fox7's coverage, woohoo!
So far all other local newscasts have only shown Hillary supporters. But quite a few FReepers were there and stared into the eyes of Her Heinous.

Maybe that would make all the queers leave the area. Are you kidding? Seeing that would make a lot of straight men go queer.
For the non-locals, Hippy Hollow is a nude park on the lake. Now try getting the mental image of a nude Hitlary and Ann Richards out of your mind.
