Local supporters gathering at advertising executive's home

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will raise a few bucks as well as sign a few books while she is in town this week.
Clinton's visit to Austin will begin tonight with a fund-raising reception at the home of local advertising executive Roy Spence, a longtime friend and supporter of the Clintons.
The New York Democrat will be at Book People at 10 a.m. Friday to sign copies of her book "Living History."
Spence said response for the fund-raising reception has been very strong. He could not offer an estimate on how much money will be raised or how many people will attend.
Admission price for the private reception was set at $2,000 for hosts, $1,000 for sponsors and $500 for guests.
"I think Hillary Clinton has got a future on a national level beyond the United States Senate," said Spence, acknowledging that the former first lady is among the more polarizing personalities in politics.
"She is one of those people that from the Democratic standpoint has, from the start, a national constituency," Spence said. "She also has a national constituency that doesn't like what she stands for, but she has a very strong national constituency that is proud of what she is all about."
Spence said he has talked to Clinton about long-range political plans. "I don't think it's the time" for a presidential race now, he said. "I wouldn't rule it out next time."
Spence backs Connecticut Sen. Joseph Lieberman for the Democratic presidential nomination. His wife, Mary, supports Gen. Wesley Clark.

I was alerted to this event by a fellow Austin Freeper. Found this in the Austin Un-American Liberal Non-Statesman today.
I cannot attend to protest, as I have to get ready for National Guard training this weekend. I would love to be there with several dozen rotten eggs to greet the witch from NY.

Alas, Willie should do pretty well in Austin even thought he has no pardons to sell. Austin is a very liberal town and the scumbag dems who have blocked redistricing have raised the interests of all anti-Americans.
Austin is a lot like San FRancisco (and, I imagine, Madison, Wisc., although I've never been there) in that there are many affected leftists who have never been in the real world but can babble on for hours about the relative attributes of several French wines and automatically, take the anti-American, anti-Bush, neocommunist position on ANY issue. The neat part about Austin is that you can go 10 miles in any direction and find pick ups trucks with a rack in the back window that has a rile, maybe a fishing rod, and maybe an umbrella.
Leno, last night, talking about the toy store, FAO Schwatz, going bankrupt during the Christmas season, likened it to a brothel going bankrupt during the democratic convention.

I'd like to attend but can't. However, anyone who does, I suggest should research and focus on her recent trip to Iraq rather than any of her past mistakes. Her recent actions were borderline treasonous and I think you could get some ink in the paper if you stick to this rather than the usual "Clinton-hating" stuff.
Oh, and a picture of her kissing Suha Arafat would not be inapprorpiate.

I have finals - but I would have loved to be there. Of course, I wouldn't BUY her book, but I'd show up to protest. If anyone can make it - I will look forward to an after-action report.
