Walt Disney Co. Vice Chairman Roy E. Disney submitted his resignation from the company board on Sunday and called for Disney Chairman and Chief Executive Michael Eisner to step down from his own positions.

Mr. Disney, nephew to the late Walt Disney, sent Mr. Eisner a tough three-page letter severely criticizing his leadership during the past seven years. "It is my sincere belief that it is you who should be leaving and not me," Mr. Disney wrote. "Accordingly, I once again call for your resignation or retirement."

Disney lost its magic several years ago.
They should've just stayed on the family-friendly track that seems to have been envisioned by Walt Disney.
They lost me when they became politically correct.

They became politically correct when Michael Eisner took over.

Roy Disney is a decent guy. Michael Eisner is a sleazebag.

Disney Corp. doesn't want a dissenting Disney family member snooping around.

Roy Disney doesn't want to be around a company of well-groomed thugs that tarnish the Disney name.

So everyone's apparently satisfied (for the moment, hah.)

When the Eisner money mafia runs Disney smack dab into the ground, I suspect Roy will be called back again with more power.

I'll make that wish upon a star, makes no difference where I are....tra la.

Disney Studios under Eisner is a turnoff. He should resign. Walt Disney would turn over in his grave if he ever knew that Eisner sponsored Queer Days at Disneyland. How does that qualify as family-oriented? Bad Eisner, do the organization a favor and resign.

Weren't there some pro-family groups that were/are boycotting Disney parks, etc?

These folks should rejoice - looks like it is having an impact.

Walt Disney Co. Vice Chairman Roy E. Disney submitted his resignation from the company board on Sunday and called for Disney Chairman and Chief Executive Michael Eisner to step down from his own positions.

Essentially Roy is pulling the Disney name from Eisner and his policies.

The Disney Empire has become nothing but an immoral PC toilet, and nothing of that which its founder had in mind. Disney sponsered (no matter how much they deny it) "Gay Days" is the final evidence of that.

The Disney tradition had been removed from the Eisner group for a long time.

FYI - I found this in another forum, from November 2001:

'In today's London Evening Standard newspaper, is an interview with Roy Disney who discusses the DVD of Snow White and, of particular interest to those who dislike the cutting of Disney animated films on PC grounds, is the following quote:

"One group of Disney films (including Saludos Amigos, Melody Time and Make Mine Music) has recently been cut on video for perceived political correctness, something Roy (Disney)is concerned about. "I was really angry" he said. "Nobody asked me, and I wouldn't have let them do that. We're having meetings now to fix the problem, because this is history. One suggestion is that we release films in two versions - if you want your kids to see Pecos Bill without a cigarette in his hands (give me a break!), you can have it both ways."'

Thanks. Roy Disney is correct. PC has gone too far. Resign Eisner, resign.

Lost my support when "gay day" started at Disneyland. Why on earth would I want to take my two little boys there? Would I take them to a gay BAR? NO! Do I need to explain to my 7 year old what it means to be GAY? NO! Let's face it, when less than 3% of the population is gay, and Disney makes such a concerted effort to cater to the homosexual community, they have ventured outside of what I would call "family-friendly." They are just plain agenda-oriented now. No more magic kingdom.

I am guessing--but I think Eisner must be gay. I haven't kept up--and I don't care to spend my time looking up that kind of info...I can just make an assumption based on how many "changes" Eisner has initiated since he's been there.

Disneyworld was THE place to go when I was growing up and I have such fond memories of it. I always envisioned myself taking my own children there when I became a parent and sharing happy memories with yet another generation.

I didn't have kids for many years -- and boy did they change. I won't be going back. My last visit was 23 years ago.

Eisner isn't gay....but a lot of those studio employees are. My mom couldn't believe that "Bad Santa" was a Disney movie

If I recall right, Hunt family sold Disney stock a while back at depress prices. The market snapped them up and the stock recovered. More is sure to be disclosed.

Ted has been gone from WB for a long time....I think the consumer products people were the ones that banned those 7 Looney Tunes cartoons. Totally messed up. Remember when Cartoon Network wanted to run them all?

"In his letter, Mr. Disney said that Mr. Eisner deserved credit for a successful first decade after taking the helm at Disney in 1984"

Screw Roy Disney. Disney(Eisner) went to the left in the mid 80's.

Filth and left-wing indoctrination. Roy only cares about the dough. I want to see them in chapter 11!!
