Thought you would enjoy reading the President's question and answer with the press aboard Air Force One! Still amazing to me that the President pulled this off! What a great feeling to see the pictures of him in Baghdad with the troops!

So I think the American people appreciate me going to express their sentiments to these kids. This citizen does.
And many posts after this one will agree.

Can only imagine the morale boost his visit gave to the troops and their family and friends back home. Everytime I watch the reaction when President Bush comes out to read his own address to the troops, I get tears in my eyes.

Me too! Makes you want to roll up your sleeves and support him even more. This was an unbelieveable journey he made to Iraq.
One side highlight was stealing the front page from Ms. Clinton. She didn't even make my paper she was over there!

Iraqi Governing Counsel member Ahmad Chalabi (C) smiles while U.S. military troops applaud U. S. President George W. Bush who surprised U.S. military troops stationed in Iraq with a secret Thanksgiving Day visit to personally honor their service and sacrifice at the Baghdad International Airport, November 27, 2003. The president arrived in Iraq unannounced and met with troops before returning to his Central Texas ranch for the weekend. REUTERS/Larry Downing
This is one of the best pictures I've seen! It's one some other FR threads, but IMO it can't be shown too much.

(The President flew in to visit our troops in Iraq on Thanksgiving!! That folks, is being a leader.)

The carrier landing was a great symbolic gesture, but this act goes far beyond that.
America has a true leader, and that won't be forgotten by anyone, even those who oppose the leadership.
This was a very big moment in so many ways.
If Andy Card was the driving force, he deserves a raise.

I talked to my son today (around 1:00 am his time)who is near Fallujah. He did not know that President Bush had been in the country. I explained what he did and all he could say was that it was a "gutsy" move by a great President. He said he would spread the word.

Another first of sorts for the President..... He asked the questions but doesn't micro manage the situation..... Find good people, give them the assignments, get out of their way and let them do the job. Hold them accountable for the results.... Management/leadership as it should be done.
