[history]
Jim Quinn, WRRK (96.9 FM) talk show host, and co-host Rose Somma-Tennent will be leaving the Steel City Media classic rock station to join Clear Channel Radio station WJJJ (104.7 FM), according to a senior radio industry executive.
Quinn and Somma-Tennent, who are heard 5:30 to 9 a.m. weekdays on WRRK, will be the new morning show on WJJJ when the station switches from its rhythm and blues oldies format to a hot talk format featuring controversial topics. The change, possibly including new call letters for WJJJ, could happen by January, according to the source.

(We should have more like Quinn.)
To: Badray
Thanks - that's what I thought.

I love Quinn. There's nothing else better in Pittsburgh re: talk radio (except Rush).
Quinn's first law: Liberlism always produces the exact opposite of its stated intent.
To: Badray
I think that I qualify as a Quinn basher. Several years ago, I coined the phrase "Payday Patriot" to refer to him. If he isn't getting paid, he doesn't lift a finger for the conservative cause. I might have met you at Asiago's.

Canadian Longtime Jim Quinn Listeners BTTT!
This is great news... provided he still keeps MP3 show archives! Will Clear Channel allow that? hmm...

Jim Quinn rocks bump!
I wonder if good old "John" will still have his regular slot ;-)
To: jodorowsky
I wonder if good old "John" will still have his regular slot ;-)i always got the impression that John was trying to use that show (and others, i've heard him on several) to pull a "Carl From Oyster Bay" type of thing (Carl Limbaucher from Newsmax now). John had better be able to write better than he talks, because sometimes he's just a pain in the ass caller, sort of like a nice "Nevile".

"I might have met you at Asiago's." I've been to Asiago's 2, maybe 3 times. Each time for a Young Republican meeting. It's been 4 or 5 years, IIRC.
I'm that small, shy, quiet guy with no opinions. Is that the way you remember me?
Okay, so I'm not small, shy, quiet, and without opinions. I'm also too old to be a Young Republican. LOL

If they ain't up to no good, at the very least, they are incompetent and should be fired. They were up to no good.
Oswald did it alone. Barf!

Different Dan Sullivan. Thanks, I am glad you told me. It's bad to go around with the wrong impression! And you're right about the wonderful Plan B, too.
Take care.

and if you are a sane, rational person, you will come away convinced that the "Single Bullet Theory" is the only thing Specter ever got right.Riiiiight, you learned that from your Scottish Law background, eh? Get a grip. People from Pittsburgh are usually more discerning. Your Bull*hit Detector seems to be malfunctioning. Check the warranty. ;)

Watch that ABC special from last week, and if you are a sane, rational person, you will come away convinced that the "Single Bullet Theory" is the only thing Specter ever got right. http://abcnews.go.com/sections/WNT/WorldNewsTonight/jfk_beyond_conspiracy-1.html - yeah it is from ABC, but guess what, it is conclusive and overwhelming. The "single bullet theory" is as true as the claim that Hillary made about being named after Sir Edmund Hillary! Sir Edmund was an obscure bee-keeper in New Zealand when the Beast was born. He climbed the mountain six years later. Some people believe anything.
The veracity of "the single bullet theory" is as real as the honesty of the Clintons. pgopg, you must be Arlen!

That was a mistake. My, Quinn's human. Surprise. BTW, do you have a sense of humor? I think you do, after all, you believe old Arlen's pristine bullet tale.
BTW, what do you have to say about the NUMEROUS eyewitnesses to the JFK killing, who were right there a few feet away from the car, and immediately pointed to the fence and "the grassy knoll" at the time the shot blew a third of his head off. Get real. Was Oswald up there too?

You can add 'Flight 800' to the list too! Badray, some folks will never get it. He believes old Arlen Sphincter, afterall.

What is most telling for me about how good Jim and the show really are is when you hear the mainstream media reporting on stories that he told us about 6 to 12 months earlier. When he broke the stories, he was called nuts. When they gathered enough steam that the mainstream could no longer ignore then no one wants to remember that to Quinn listeners, it's old news. You said it all. He goes where others don't, and nearly always is right on. And, I must emphasize, his greathumor, timing, and general professionalism is fantastic. He does Rodney Dangerfield better than Rodney.
"She's so fat:
She got on the scale and a card came out saying.... "One at a time."
Her bath tub has stretch marks.
Her belly button makes an echo.
She wears a "CROSS YOUR THIGHS" bra.
When guys have sex with her they ask for directions.

I hate to say it, but I see little hope for Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. We still got Myron, and Iron!!! Yuk, yuk. You're right. This city is dying. Did you know (and I think this is correct) that Allegheny County has the oldest poulation in the country. I'm 57, and I'm a spring chicken. Go figure.
Speaking of good media guys, my most favorite is Walter Williams - " black by popular demand, and a very handsome man"! He's very funny and simply brilliant.

Quinn's first law: Liberalism always produces the exact opposite of its stated intent.Yes. And, "the ugly truth is a beautiful thing".
Don't you love it when someone calls in and relates to him a story of a conversion from dimwitted liberal to conservative, and then he plays that "come to Jesus" anthem? That is priceless!
He is one of a kind, and personally I think he's much, much better than Rush. If Jim had been syndicated all over the country for the past decade, could you imagine?
