Boy, Thanksgiving sure was a bad day at DU.
A thread about Bush's visit to Iraq
Another thread about Bush's visit to Iraq
A thread about Toby Keith's Halftime Show
Just for reference, so we know what kind of people we're dealing with, a poll conducted on DU
Another DU poll
I'm not sure if linking to DU threads is frowned upon or not, but these threads are too good to not share with my fellow Freepers. Comedy gold!

Ok, I'm sorry, I won't link to them again. In fact, I rarely post articles, but this was just too good to pass up. Thanks, Jim!

"Schadenfreude" is a German term that means taking pleasure in another's pain. Yup; what he said. It figures the Germans would have a word for that. :D

Trust me - we've haven't forgotten. Its a measure of our discipline that no one fragged the witch.

First he's talking with the guys, looks like he said a prayer before eating, starts eating, chats again with the guys AND NEVER ever looks at old Hil nor acknowledges she is there (at least in the file film I saw).Let's not discount the possibility he was ordered not to speak to her. The Queen does have a history of such demands, after all.

And the troops hate Hillary - the Clintons have a very bad name among the military. Unless you are in the military, you probably don't know the half of it. When I was at the Nuke School, it was a regular feature of retirement ceremonies to blast the Clintons on the way out.

I'm glad this thread stayed up, it has generated some good analysis and pointed up some things. I wouldn't want to see it every day, but its good on a major deal like this.

Are you going to post our dinner pictures time? I'm getting to it; I'm having camera issues at the moment. I think I have it fixed, though.

It's a well-accepted fact that one's ability to write (and think!) cogently, fluently and presuasively is influenced by what one reads, more than any other factor. So what in the world have these lefty whiners been reading???Michael Moore. Al Franken. Eric Alterman. Molly Ivins. Paul Krugman. Nothing requiring more than a fourth grade-level education to breeze through, in other words. :)

Interesting analysis. You're very correct: the Clintons have managed to successfully (and fraudulently) pass themselves off as "mainstream" - it's why they win elections. The Nine Dwarves, OTOH, are dug in too far to the left to do this. We've got a pleasant year ahead.

Nope, schadenfreude means gaining pleasure from watching someone else's misery. SHAH-den-FROY-duh

"asskissers like Toby Kieth are attempting to resurrect Hitler's policies"
If we could get a band like Slayer to do a show like this, they might have a heart attack.
They are so demoralized, they see themselves as little more than concentration camp inmates under the tyranny of Hitler.
Wow.
To: nicmarlo
okay, now what the heck is schadenfreude and when did this become the lingo in FR? : )I run a Mainstream Media Schadenfreude ping list in which I alert members to examples of the news media getting caught making fools of themselves. I think that's a lot of the reason it's become FR lingo, but the term itself has been around forever and I doubt it was unheard of on FR before I created the ping list.

Watch out for the democrats that support the troops and the war, they're the ones you have to worry about in the next election.Michael Savage has a theory that should Hillary run, whether now or in '08, she may run as a Margaret Thatcher type, an 'Iron Lady'. At least in terms of foreign policy. By that time, if we are used to the current big spending ways of the Republicans, domestic policy may not be such a big division between the two.

I wanted to follow the links that you provided to DU, but I only made it through half of the first page. I just couldn't stand it. Those people don't talk in facts and substantiation. They vent. That's all they do is vent. They're all emotion and no substance. Pathetic.
