President Bush secretly landed an hour ago and is currently eating Thanksgiving dinner at my undisclosed location. Anticipate a press release after he takes off.

Long time ago, but I still remember how it all went down for me.
A friend called, told me to turn on the TV, that a plane had hit the towers.
I was at work, sans TV (we have one there but it was in a closet at the time) so I turned on the radio while coming to FR.
The radio reports and everything I could find on the web other than at FR were saying it was a small plane, perhaps a Cessna.
I still remember that sick, awful feeling when I reloaded that thread and someone had posted a comment saying "did I just see the other tower get hit?" or something like that.
I still remember more of that day, than any other day of my life. Today included.

ChiefKujo,
let me join the freerepublic masses in congratulating you on starting a "hall of freeper fame"
thread...provided previous posts by you couldn't have caused a security risk.
I heard the announcement of this by radio show host Dennis Prager this
morning, probably about 9:30 AM Pacific Time (Los Angeles). I immediately got chills
(of excitement at the on-site spectacle).
Assuming (and accepting) you are where you say you are, thanks for everything you're doing.
I've sent four care-packages (shopped, packed, shipped myself) to two recipients
in your theater...a bit of work, a bit of money...all worth it.
Oh, I guess wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving is sort of a useless exercise at this point!

We basically were in a news blackout on the Oregon and California coast. When we finally got home late on the 12th.You had no news access for a day and a half after 9/11? Where the heck WERE you? Not even a radio?

yes, whats up with that statement...was it the 747 or the DC9? I have seen the little one in the press more.
Also, anyone know what callsign they used? Must not have been "Air Force One" as people do listen to that stuff 24/7

"It must be killing them over on DU.."
As I check them, they are absolutely besides themselves in fear and hate now.
It's incredible. They are such vile, bitter little creatures. They don't care one bit about anything other than their petty hatred.
Even if Clinton did this, I'd not bash him. I don't like clinton whatsoever, but I'd appreciate the move.
Basically, those guys over there are shellshocked about this visit today.

Please post a detailed first hand account as soon as you are able. Have a safe Thanksgiving.

News reports thus far indicate they did not use any of the usual designations like "Air Force One", etc. for this trip due to operational security.

You can understand the need to keep the exact location unpublished.

ChiefKujo,
I'm only posting this to remind the forum about the need for caution...not to chastize
anybody.
Besides, anytime is a good time for Churchill's pithy quotes...

As I check them, they [DU] are absolutely besides themselves in fear and hate now.Well, nothing is more certain to render them totally ineffective as some fear and hate. That'll work every time!
Wow. This thread just keeps on going! ;-)

Im at work. When I left to come here, CNN was talking about Hillary. When I got here one of the lefties I spar with here, came up to me and said, "Looks like your boy pulled another carrier landing! A campaign stop at the expense of our troops!" I didnt know what he was talking about until I logged on. So when I countered with, "What do you think Hillary is doing in Afghanistan?"

LOL! It's amazing how they have made that woman, and her demon husband, their deities. I honestly believe that, if they caught Bubba raping their daughters, they would just shrug it off. Then, they would blame W.
