Jax accuser doing poorly (PJ-Comix Buddy Quoted In Article)
New York Daily News ^ | November 26, 2003 | TRACY CONNOR

Posted on 11/26/2003 5:19:27 PM PST by PJ-Comix

The cancer kid in the Michael Jackson sex scandal is sick again and living in poverty - while the star's handlers vow to crush anyone who maligns the self-styled King of Pop. Jamie Masada, the Hollywood comedy club owner who first brought together Jackson and the boy, visited the 13-year-old a few days ago and was shocked.

"He only has one kidney and it's failing him, and part of his face is swollen up," Masada told the Daily News yesterday. "His cancer's in remission, but he worries if the cancer comes back, what's going to happen."

Masada met the boy three years ago at a comedy camp he runs for underprivileged kids, and said the funny, sweet youngster charmed everyone.

When the boy was diagnosed with cancer and given weeks to live, Masada did all he could to fulfill his deathbed wish and arranged a meeting with Jackson.

Now that the boy has accused Jackson of molesting him at Neverland, Masada is ridden with guilt - and standing by the child and his family. "They're poor people, simple people," he said.

The family has so little money that the boy and his siblings were sleeping on the floor until Masada took them a bunk bed.

Their mother, who is divorced, sat with a Bible in her lap, quoting Scripture with tears in her eyes, Masada said.

"It just breaks your heart," he said. "It's hard to see the powerful people going up against the little people."

Jackson's high-powered lawyer, Mark Geragos, gave the public a glimpse of what anyone who takes on the oddball entertainer can expect. "We will land on you like a ton of bricks ... if you do anything to besmirch this man's reputation," he said.

"Michael Jackson is not going to be slammed, is not going to be a pi%F1ata for every person who has financial motives."

Geragos lashed out after the charter airline that ferried Jackson from Las Vegas to his booking in California last week tried to hawk secret videotape of the trip to news outlets.

People who have seen the video reported that Jackson was calm and smiling on the trip home from his police booking.

Geragos obtained a restraining order against the airline, XtraJet, filed suit against them and threatened to put them out of business.

But he didn't stop there - taking the hardest line yet against Jackson's adolescent accuser.

"If anybody doesn't think ... the true motivation of these charges and these allegations is anything but money and the seeking of money, they are living in their own Neverland," Geragos railed.

Private investigator Ernie Rizzo - who worked for the family of the 13-year-old who accused Jackson of molestation in 1993 - thinks Jackson's team will make good on their threats with "terror tactics."

"That's what he did last time," Rizzo said. "He'll send out his goons."

Led by recently jailed private eye Anthony Pellicano, they bugged phones, put electronic tails on cars, spread rumors and sabotaged press conferences, Rizzo said.

"This whole family is in for something terrible," he said of Jackson's new accuser.

Masada said he didn't ask Jackson's new accuser whether he has been harassed, but his mother is "very upset" by the suggestion she's a gold-digger. "She keeps saying, 'God will help us,'" he said. "It's a sad situation."

You might remember about a week ago I noticed some mention of Jamie Masada in regard to the Jackson case. Anyway a few minutes I saw them talk about this Daily News article on MSNBC and they showed tape of Jamie. It definitely was my old friend from L.A.. Amazingly he looks like he hasn't aged a day after all these years.

Since I am sure Jamie Masada will be mentioned a lot in news stories on this case frequently in the future, here is the lowdown on Jamie from someone who knows him very well. This story reads about right. Jamie, although he is an extremely shrewd businessman and a workaholic is also that rarity in Hollywood, someone who is genuinely a nice guy.

Also (don't let this get out) but Jamie is also a conservative and was also a big supporter of Ronald Reagan.

Anyway, I thought you might want some inside info on this person who now seems to be prominent in this case from someone who knew him well.

I wonder what will happen re this kids health? I had read early on that the mother does read scripture etc. Of course according to Jackson et al she's on crack. Hopefully, Jackson will be charged quickly and this family can get some genuine help.

I don't doubt that the kid's family is in bad financial shape, but I also suspect Masada floated this story as a response to Gargle-Guts' (I have to give credit to Don IMus for that one!) threats about driving any accusers to financial ruin. If this family is already "ruined," Gargle-Guts' threats aren't going to mean a damned thing.

So you are saying that Jamie is claiming this to protect the family from Gargle-Guts? I don't know. I do know that Jamie is that incredible rarity in Hollywood, a genuinely nice guy underneath the hard-driving business exterior.

He already has been charged.

Well according to Sneddon had told a Nov. 19 news conference that charges would be filed "in a very short period of time." By week's end he announced that the charges would not be filed until after the Thanksgiving holiday.

Yeah that sounds about right except Jamie's age in his bios keeps making him progressively younger and younger (although he did look incredibly young like he hadn't aged a day when I saw him on the tube earlier today).

Another Jackson Cancellation

STRIKE THAT: An Indiana high school marching band has dropped Michael Jackson's "Thriller" from its songlist for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The band's director told the New York Times that in light of the child molestation allegations facing Jacko, the tune would not be "appropriate for the morals and the ideals and the sense of pride" the parade represents. Instead, the band will play "Smack My Bitch Up" by Prodigy. (TV Guide Online)

Wow. What a great story. Sleeping on a couch in an empty garage.

Even more amazing is how he started the Laugh Factory with basically nothing. All he had was a small empty storefront and a broken down out-of-tune piano that he bought for $10. (I had to help lug and transport that piano to the Laugh Factory).

rumor is the boy's mother sued a security guard company or a shopping mall when the boy "possibly" lifted something from the mall and was questioned. She sued and said she was beaten and handled roughly by the security guard. They mall or security company settled for $130,000 with her. I don't know the whole story or if there is any truth to it... (so don't jump me folks... I just heard part of it on FOX earlier and I know they said she got $130,000 out of it and I don't know if they settled out of court or not with her.)

Yeah, well the REAL story about Jamie is more amazing than anything written on that website. Bottom line he is a super-workaholic who can take NOTHING and build it into SOMETHING. The Laugh Factory being the prime example.

Thanks, Z. Now all I've got to do is reconcile that info with this ABC report, stating that Jackson was escorted in handcuffs to the police station and charged with multiple counts of child molestation last Thursday, the day after Sneddon gave his statement.

"It's hard to see the powerful people going up against the little people."

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed how the media is covering this story sympathetically toward Michael Jackson? Contrast that with the reporting that was/is overwhelmingly hostile to, say, Scott Peterson, Gary Condit, Rush Limbaugh, Martha Stewart, and other non-politically correct individuals caught in legal difficulties.

Speaking of Rush Limbaugh, I was dismayed this morning when he said about Geragos' outburst, "It's about time." Rush obviously was relating Jackson's situation to his own problems, but that doesn't excuse his praise of Geragos'chilling mob-like threats.

Is that jerk, Geragos protecting the powerful and corrupt Jackson creep? Geragos, there's freedom of speech in this county. You can't threatened all of us. "Besmirched"? Give me a break.

Some stand with the powerless and innocent against the powerful and corrupt. Watch for them...

Jackson's high-powered lawyer, Mark Geragos, gave the public a glimpse of what anyone who takes on the oddball entertainer can expect. "We will land on you like a ton of bricks ... if you do anything to besmirch this man's reputation," he said.
