Rush has spent the last several minutes likening Bush to Nixon. Nixon gave us OSHA and the EPA. Bush is giving us Prescription Medicine benefits for seniors.

Rush says the Republican party cannot claim to be the party of smaller government.

This sounds likme the OLD Rush of 10 years ago!

If I read the Constitution correctly I do not see any reference to seniors being entitiled to free drugs at MY expense. And this amount will grow to a TRILLION within a few years. But you all stayed & voted in this "TWO-PARTY CARTEL" & they screwd you Big Time. I have now had it with all of them. Can any of you here actually favor what happened?? If so, you aren't conservative. If you are a conservative why would you support this man next election. Your response probably is , look at the alternative. The bill that has been pushed through also includes a ton of money to support the border hospitals that are going under due to having to treat the illegal hordes.

Clearly transparent and at what point do you draw the line? Why not another 400 bill. to give all 18-24 yr. olds free college tuition? another 400 bill for middle agers to buy that porsche?

God knows keeping a campaign promise is so much more important than following the Constitution. He swore on the Holy Bible to uphold that too. But polls are more important eh?

And opinions on the spending in Iraq will vary depending on whether or not folks think ousting Saddam was vital to our national defense. I think it was.

I'm not entirely thrilled with the COST of this bill, but then again, what we GOT in exchange for the price paid was a beachhead on the road to privatization.

Southack has explained that in a lot of detail, and the fact that Kennedy and other left-wingers blasted this bill big time is an indication that this bill is not as bad as some fear. Imperfect, yes. We paid a high price for the beachhead.

But I'd submit that as Medicare and Social Security eventually are privatized, this bill will be seen as the first step.
