Rush has spent the last several minutes likening Bush to Nixon. Nixon gave us OSHA and the EPA. Bush is giving us Prescription Medicine benefits for seniors.
Rush says the Republican party cannot claim to be the party of smaller government.
This sounds likme the OLD Rush of 10 years ago!

I think you should spend some time reading what's involved in this bill before you jump to conclusions. I am reminded that the education bill, which I thought was too expensive, is not what the NEA thought it was, and they are howling to high heavens. Sems that the money isn't available if you don't perform, and they didn't think W meant it.

...the local Richmond conservative radio talkshow host just called Dubyuh "Lyndon Baines Bush!!" OUCH!! Yeah, I'm listening too. He's okay sometimes, but more often than not, he just wants to be controversial rather than principled. He's not as smart as he thinks he is.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy with this bill either.
But I think we gotta keep telling our folks that, and keep pushing them to do the right thing. Bolting and calling them "Democrats" will serve no purpose.
BTW Mud, how Did Cantor vote?

How specious! Anybody can make a list like that for any president.
This is nothing but a vote grab, and it's sickening. George W(hore) Bush has lost me.

Anyone can also use a vulgar name to describe the President.
Bush campaigned on this prescription drug coverage. It is ridiculous to act like he has sold anyone out. If you voted for him, you either knew this and accepted it as one thing you didn't agree with, or you didn't know, in which case you didn't pay attention.
Calling him a whore is both ignorant and insulting to those who support him.

What do you expect form someone who calls herself Charlote Corday? LOL!

Is there a simple outline of this bill around here somewhere? Something that lists all the provisions?
I mean, from what I know it's bad, vey bad.
But are the RATS really going ballistic just because Bush stole their issue? Or is there something else?

What I think should happen is you should decide if you want to pay for your families drugs. If you think they merit your help go crazy.
I will make the same evaluations regarding my family but yes if you don't want to use your money to help your family than yes I would rather her work in her wheelchair than shortchange my children because she did not save enough for her retirement.
And yes they may not have had pell grants but they also paid about 1/15th of what I am paying in social security taxes on a percentage basis not to mention the generally lower tax burden. If they are already taking 15% of the income that should go to my family then compassion does not dictate that I contribute more.
To: Miss Marple
I don't care if it is voluntary or not. It will cost 400 billion dollars over 10 years and up to 2 trillion over 20 years. This can not be spun as conservative in any way.

It's going to cost (at least) FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND MILLION DOLLARS. Which means a trillion (and that's a conservative estimate). That's OK us young people will pay off all that debt for the "greatest generation's" entitlements.

You know, your children will model their behavior on you from how you treat your parents.
I hope you are able to save a LOT of money.

"...more often than not, he just wants to be controversial rather than principled." That's my take on Mr. Graham as well...sorta a Populist like O'Reilly.
"I think we gotta...keep pushing them to do the right thing. Bolting and calling them "Democrats" will serve no purpose."
Agreed...I ain't bolting, but I do reserve the right to squawk when MY TEAM goes off the conservative reservation!!

Yes they very well may treat me based on how I treat my parents but fortunately it won't be based on how I treat yours. Either way I should be able to save plenty assuming you and your parents don't decide to take it all, and justify it under the ruse of compassion.

I was being generous............
increasing the welfare state by four hundred dollars is enough to turn me against him.

Uh dude, Nixon didn't sign any bill with privatization provisions for medicare. GW Bush will. Bush signs a bill that is 99% new spending, 1% privatization, and all you're interested in talking about is the latter. LOL!
