Moby, Soros launch contests for anti-Bush commercial Mon Nov 24, 2:55 PM ET
NEW YORK (AFP) - Electronic pop supremo Moby has teamed up with Jonathan Soros -- son of billionaire George Soros -- in launching an Internet competition for a TV commercial attacking President George W. Bush (news - web sites).
The contest, called "Bush in 30 seconds" is open to the general public and will be judged by a celebrity panel including actors Jack Black and Janeane Garafalo, REM frontman Michael Stipe and documentary film maker Michael Moore.
"Anyone can make and submit a 30 second TV ad that is somehow based around 'the truth about George Bush'," Moby wrote on his website www.Moby.com.
Ten entrants will be shortlisted for the judges, with the winning commercial to be broadcast before Bush's January State of the Union address.
The competition is being organised with the help of moveon.org -- the online advocacy group that helped coordinate nationwide protests against the war in Iraq (news - web sites).
"For the last three years, President Bush's policies have ransacked the environment, put our national security at risk, damaged our economy, and redistributed wealth from the middle class to the very wealthiest Americans," said moveon.org's Eli Pariser.
"As the 2004 election nears, it's crucial that voters understand what President Bush's policies really mean for our country. And to do that, we need creative new ads that clearly show what's at stake," Pariser said.

The contest is going to be judged by the likes of Janeane Garafalo and Michael Moore? LOL....Janeane Garafalo who promised to apologize to Bush should the Iraqi's actually welcome American troops into there country after Saddam's fall....she never did.
Michael Moore....this idiot who won an award for his sham of a documentary "Bowling for Columbine".
Is the best they could come up for judges? LOL

I'm dissappointed to see Jack Black on that list of judges.
I never knew the "D" in "Tenacious D" was for "Democrat".

I was wondering if you would be able to refrain from using unnecesary adventurous remarks in your titles? If you cannot restrain yourself, at least insert a space before and after parens (in this case, before). Thank you for setting an example.

And the Left Warriors continue to identify themselves.
This will be usefull when the radical Left fails and we need to look back at those who led the anti-American charge.
Soros: we are watching and taking note. Consequences, my man.
These celebrities will watch their careers fade and screech about censorship, when in reality their "public" is voting with their pocketbook.
Buh-bye.

I admit I am relatively new to Free Republic and I am sure I have not posted nearly as many articles as you. I have noticed alot of posters adding remarks in the titles and I thought the one I added here was appropriate. Obviously, I was wrong. I have re-read your post several times and I cannot for the life of me understand what you are saying. As I am new to this, please expound on your post describing where I went wrong and how to fix it. Thank you.
