An Indian man who claims divine inspiration says he has survived 68 years without eating, drinking or relieving himself, baffling doctors who are unable to prove him an imposter.

Prahlad Jani, a 76-year-old whose extraordinary tale has won him a small band of devotees, took a dare and underwent round-the-clock surveillance at a hospital in Ahmedabad (news - web sites), the commercial capital of the western state of Gujarat.

"He has evidence of the formation of urine, which was reabsorbed on his bladder wall. The medical committee does not have any scientific explanation," Shah said.

He's been living off the "prana" that is in the atmosphere. This is the first documented case I've heard of. Very interesting.

Thanksgiving bump to you and yours from Tejas!

Amen! Happy Thanksgiving fron Jawja!

We had Texican Friday, Thanksgiving block party Sunday, will have Thanksgiving Wednesday at work, Thursday with my family and the wifes. I'll eat enough in one week to keep this guy fed for a century.

Is it proper etiquette to eat hot wings for Thanksgiving?

So, why's he bragging about it now? What's he want? A double cheeseburger?

When I was in college, there was a student who claimed he had gone 18 years with no food or water.

Actually, I just made that up.

Suspend him in a box somewhere in London, and see how long he lasts.

No, no, it's "prana". This person has attained this state through meditation.

I'm afraid this guy is pulling a hunger strike and wants 15 minutes of fame while he's at it. Hopefully, it won't result in his imminent death.

The docs hope he comes back one day so they can check out the hole in his head palate. What, 10 days and not one doc said, "hmm, open wide and let's have a looksee"? Bet he stopped off at McD's for a Big Mac and a McRibs on the way back to his cave.

Years ago, I got tired of spending money on food, drink and toilet paper and taught myself photosynthesis. I reasoned that if a pine tree could do it, I could master the technique.

At that time I lived in Washington state. Not the best place on this sunny planet to perfect the intricate details involved in directly converting sunshine to energy. I convinced my wife to move to Texas where there is more sunshine and fewer Democrats. Once in Texas I discovered BBQ briskit and beans, which ended my desire for chlorophyll photo excitement and significantly increased my TP budget again. Willie Nelson needs to write a song about me.

Where are his legs? Also, he's in a serious need of a shave, and should be using a stronger sun-block.

What if...

His system is inhabited with some kind of fungus that can extract all the nourishment he needs from the air he breathes (kind of like the other poster had joked).

Sure it sounds far fetched, but I think Occam would like it..

This is the first documented case I've heard of.

Documented by whom? I think it's a pant load.
