Jackson's explicit letters seized (child's name redacted for FR)
The Daily Telegraph ^ | November 24th, 2003 | CAROLINE GRAHAM and SHARON CHURCHER

Posted on 11/23/2003 9:36:27 AM PST by Sabertooth

EXPLICIT letters and poems said to have been written by Michael Jackson to his alleged victim will form the centrepiece of the sex-abuse case against him.

Police seized at least a dozen letters during the raid on Jackson's Neverland ranch last week.

"The district attorney is convinced these letters will be crucial to the case against Jackson," a source close to the investigation said yesterday.

"The boy told investigators about letters and poems and their precise location inside Michael's home. These letters were among the evidence seized, along with videotapes.

"They are very explicit and intimate and show a degree of familiarity. Basically, they appear to be love letters from Michael to the boy."

The accuser, 12-year-old Los Angeles cancer victim ******, also told police Jackson's pet name for him was Rubba.

"The boy first told this to his therapist, then repeated it to police," the source said.

"He said Jackson called him Rubba because one of the games they used to play was called rubba rubba. The boy said, 'Michael told me he was my rubba rubba friend."'

Although police handling the case in Santa Barbara, California, have been barred from revealing any details, it is understood the alleged abuse took place in February.

Jackson is said to have befriended ****** -- who, during a controversial British documentary screened earlier this year, admitted having shared a bed with the singer -- over a long period.

A source close to 45-year-old Jackson said: "For the past five or six years, he's taken kids from fractured homes and nurtured them as a father figure. As they get older, he teaches them fun things to do.

"Michael says he learned this from an adult when he was a teenager. No-one on his staff ever said anything. He's a tyrant. Everybody obeys the man."

Another Jackson source said: "The boy told of everything that went on and described things in Michael's closets, his bathroom, what was under his bed."

In her statements to police, ******'s mother, #####, has revealed that Jackson encouraged her son to call him "Daddy".

##### has claimed she, ****** and his two siblings were held virtual prisoners at Neverland, 100km north of Santa Barbara.

When she learned of her son's accusations of molestation -- which included claims that Jackson plied him with wine and sleeping pills -- she fled with her family in the dead of night.

A source close to district attorney Tom Sneddon, who will prosecute the case, said: "The DA is very confident with the evidence he has. This includes letters, videos and computer files. They believe they have enough to nail Jackson."

Jackson's legal team is said to be encouraging him to consider a plea bargain, possibly an insanity defence that would allow him to serve time in a state mental hospital instead of jail.

There was speculation yesterday that the singer raised his $3 million bail with the help of Miami-based Al Malnik, a lawyer for notorious gangster Meyer Lansky, who died in 1983.

Malnik reportedly began making large loans to Jackson when his career nosedived.

Malnik, 69, was cited by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission in 1980 and 1992 as a person of unsuitable character.

The prosecution source said: "It just gets weirder and weirder. Michael supposedly has financial problems, but hiring someone with Mob connections is bizarre."

Prosecutors are said to be spreading a net around the world for other alleged victims. One boy of special interest is said to be in El Salvador, another in South Africa.

They are also said to be considering quizzing the son of an English premiership footballer.

Charges of aiding and abetting are likely to be filed against members of Jackson's entourage.

At the same time as the Neverland swoop, police raided two homes in Los Angeles.

One was reportedly the residence of Marc Schaffel, a gay video producer who filmed the rebuttal tape Jackson released just after Martin Bashir's British documentary aired.

Nothing suggested by the police that this was a pedophilic relationship???? Are you kidding,,what do you think multiple counts of lascivious acts on a child are. I mean they didn't arrest, cuff, book and print him and he hasn't hired a big criminal lawyer and put up his bail because he just kind of winked at this kid. You might look up the definition of a lascivious act,,it includes any act designed to sexually arouse the kid or the perp from fondling to whatever. That is the very definition of pedophilia,,,sexual contact with a minor to gratify oneself or arrouse the child.

This is the classic pedophile, hitting on kids from "fractured" or socio-economically depraved families.

I'm sad to say a youth minister in a local church was caught molesting children. Not children of church members, though. Nope, he molested the unfortunate kids he went and picked up from local shelters to take on field trips and outings.

Since I'm not positive Kobe is guilty, that makes me a mind-numbed cult fan?

And if I'm not positive Kobe is guilty, then I must thinki Jacko is innocent?

You still see nothing wrong with your logic?

I take it you would never be falsely accused of rape. And no one ever has. I'll tell you right now that is false. Men are falsely accused of rape. But to you, an accusation is enough for conviction. Damn the trial. We don't need no stinking due process!

Whoa If you lived in a non christian culture and in a country of little human rights how likely would you as a mom/dad would step forward to trust stangers and come forward that your kid was a boy toy for a rich American Perverted Idol.

If two boys can be murdered on the train tracks in Arkansas USA.

Prosecution would have to bring the families to a safe zone for life IMO.

Any legal beagles around to tell us if MJ could be held accountable for foreign sex crimes in our courts?

If he is a rich Idol who can go anywhere who knows maybe he went to a country and or culture where his actions are not considered worthy to be punishable.

OTOH Could he be deported, legally, to a Country/culture who did not take to kindly to his perverse sexual crimes?
Ouch!

For all my tax saving FR advocates maybe that would not be a bad idea.

Any ideas?

Gotta sign off for the evening all King Vanity is coming out of a deep sleep post Oregon Civil War tailgate party. Go Ducks. Double shift time plus today is the boring task of changing out RPT set up/supplies.

I know I am going to sneak back asap.
This has been a interesting thread mixed with prayers today for the NICU Babies/Pro Life Fr Logan's Room.

I'm sorry, but I must take great issue with your statement that "homosexuals think sex is love."

Your statement is probably valid if you substitute "pedophiles" as the subject of your clause: "pedophiles think sex is love."

If you maintain that judgment as a fact about homosexuals, however, you are totally mistaken.

" You have a point there. Why is she hanging around these people. But she doesn't look particularly freakish to me. "

She's a celebrity . Having her pic taken with Jackson and that crew doesn't necessarily mean she is " friends " with them .

I can't stand to see that baby dangling over the balcony video. Even though I have seen it a ton of times, everytime it freaks me out as if he might drop the child.

Yeah, the way he handled that child while giving him a bottle was bizarre too. Didn't he say they called the child "blanket?"

Consider: teenaged girls who pursued him were horribly aggressive, screeching, tearing his clothes, etc. The adult man who taught him these "games" most likely approached him politely and sweetly. Food for thought...

"I know I'm hoping he's innocent. "

You would think that everyone would be hoping that, wouldn't you? It amazes me how quickly everyone wants to believe the absolute worst is true regarding anyone in hollywood. A few are already almost joyfully refering to the "treatment" he'd get in prison like they condone prison rape.
