Istanbul, Turkey's major city on the Bosphorous, was struck for the second time in less than a week by a devastating twin car bomb attack that killed at least 27 people and wounded nearly 450 others. Moments later, an unidentified caller to the Anatolian News Agency claimed responsibility on behalf of Osama bin Laden's terrorist network.

Turkey will now embark on an unrelenting hunt to track down those involved in this latest wave of terrorism and bring them and those behind it to justice — one way or another.

They can do it, because they wont have people like Sen. Durbin, Lattenburg?, Hillary Clinton, and Carl Levin whining about the Turkish Justice Department profiling and stepping on rights. Where is the Turkish Ted Kennedy when Al Qaeda needs him most?

Al Qaeda is doing exactly what the Koran and their Hadith command them to do. Kill all Jews, Christians, and all moderate Muslims.

Does the Turkish Army have JAGs? Will they be prosecuting Turkish soldiers for rudeness to captured Al Qaeda fighters?

(Just curious.)

I know the Turks very well after living with them (1st Army) for over a year. Don't be surprised if the terrorist who are caught have their heads on pikes down Atta Turk Blvd.

Facing US pursuit, Al Qaeda’s increasing reliance on their dispersed command and control through their cellular organizational structure is likely the source of such mistakes.

It empowers politically unsophisticated junior commanders with targeting authority. In this case, they chose to target a state that just needed and excuse to eradicate them. Same with Saudi Arabia. What’s next, Iran?

They’ve increased their attacks, but lost their mind.

We need the Turks and the Indians to fight on our side.

Both of them have a better track record in dealing with Islamic extremism than we do.

Yup, the Turks handle dissent very well, after all in 1918 to 1920, they 'solved' the Armenian problem by carrying out a complete genocide, slaughtering over a million Armenians.

The Turks HAVE attacked Iran, many, many times. Or rather, the Ottoman Empire waged war against the Safavid dynasty in Persia for hundreds of years.

If the AlQ (Sunni Terror) attack Iran (Shia terror) we could have a full-fledged Islamic civil war..... Hey, wait a minute, that wouldn't be too bad, now would it???

I retired Spec. Ops. guy told me last night that the attack on Turkey by AQ was a BIG mistake on their part. From personal experience, he said the Turks will be brutal --- YEAH!!!

Anybody remember "Midnight Express?"

Unfortunately, as usual, the story was kind of hyped up and exagerated to suit an anti-Turk agenda. It was a thrilling story. Just not particularly true in its more brutal aspects.

The Armenian problem

The Turkish claim is that the Armenians activelly collaborated with the Russians and invited them in, hoping they would get a free Armenia out of the deal. Well, a lot of Turks died fighting Russians, and it took the death of the Age of Communism before a broken piece of Armenia finally became free. But you will always hear the anti-Turk side because of the number of Greeks and Aremenians in the U.S. The Turkish side is never told.
