Nice to see tributes like this. Maybe we've turned the corner on attitudes towards our brave troops?

Kick it up Emeril--to notches yet unknown.

Anyone ever watch his show? He has fun. He makes light of himself. Everybody has fun.

I contrast his style to that retentive Martha Stewart, who approached cooking with all the delight of flu shot.

Shoshana is at the guest table. Trace Atkins is there, too. Large crowd. Smoked turkey legs. Sweet potatoes now.

Without our troops, we couldn't experience the "essence" of America!

I think 9-11 had a significant impact on Emeril. His support of firemen and police is awesome. Glad to see him doing this. I guess the baldwins, douglas's and their ilk will have to dine elsewhere... say, at flay's place.

It puts to mind the protestors, who claim to be "against the war, but for the troops:" we never see them doing anything for the troops.

Just finished watching it AGAIN. We're big Emeril fans at my house. He did a great job. His parting line to the troops: "You make us proud to be American!"

Bam! that's good.

I read somewhere that Shoshana Johnson was a cook for a restaurant before her deployment to Iraq, and that she'd always wanted to be a chef. It must be especially thrilling for her to be on a cooking show.
