Oh no... I need to quickly short all my cat and dog food stocks since sales will now plummet.

I thought those damn biscuits my brother fed me when I was a kid were pretty good. It was the "sucking the raw egg" out of the shell that bothered me. BUT I DID IT ANYWAY!!

"The Republican-controlled House"
So, even Fox does it?
When the Satancrats had the House and Senate, they were merely "the House" and "the Senate." With Pubbies in the majority, they have become "the Republican-controlled House" and "the Republican-controlled Senate."
If the Republicans fritter away their support through moral cowardice and lose the majority, do you suppose they'll become "the Democrat-controlled House" and "the Democrat-controlled Senate?"
When pigs fly.

I think a new trend should start, 'work for prescription drugs'. I am a bonified old coot and believe me, over my working years I have paid a bundle into SS and its about time they give us a helping hand, look what they do for the medicade bunch.

Also included in this bill:
Medicare legislation moving through Congress would give hospitals at least $1 billion over the next four years to cover the spiraling costs of providing emergency services for undocumented immigrants.
Jon Kyl, R-Arizona authored the original legislation to reimburse hospitals, and he persuaded lawmakers to include the money in the $395 billion Medicare bill. He was among a small group of lawmakers who negotiated the controversial bill.

Shame.
As I have noted elsewhere, even the loyal Bushbots seem absent in the rationalizations on this monstrosity.

I don't think it will pass the Senate. The DUers are going to flood the Senate Democreeps with e-mails protesting this Bill. The Democreeps in the Senate are probably not going to pass this.

The Democreeps in the Senate are probably not going to pass this. The Republicans, led by GWB, have sunk so low, at least on this bill, that we have to count on the dems to save us.
Clearly something wrong with this picture.

I am wondering how they could hold the vote open for 2 hours and 50 minutes until they got enough Republicans to change their vote?
It was supposed to be a 15 minute vote with 2 extra minutes.
The vote was- yea 216/nay 218 for almost 3 hours.

You know that the world has turned upside down when conservatives are routing for a Dem victory and the AARP is shilling for Republicans.

Lyndon B. Bush No kidding! First, after 9/11 he creates a whole new bureaucracy with the "Office of Homeland Security". Then he pushes through the so-called "Patriot Act" that does more to trample on the individual rights of citizens than it does to quell illegal aliens from entering this country. (It's the borders, George) Next, we have good 'ole Teddy Kennedy authoring Bush's education bill, nothing more than a gift to the NEA. Now, we have this boondoggle.
If you're under 45 get ready to empty your wallet.....
Jeez, with "Conservatives" like these, who needs Liberals?

I'm so conflicted!!! ;^)

Since not one in a hundred here on FR has read the bill and knows many of the details (including me) I will reserve judgement for now. One thing though, if the Democrats were all against it there has to be some redeeming qualities to it. We'll see...

But House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said seniors know that her party gave birth to Medicare during the Great Society, adding, "we want to protect it and strengthen it. America's seniors have also known where Republicans stand, for four decades they have waged war on Medicare."
She's got part of that right. Dems will always get credit for this program. No matter how much we try, we can't out spend the libs.
