A new bombshell revelation in the Kobe Bryant case threatens to destroy the credibility of the prosecutions key witness - whose testimony could send the basketball superstar to jail for years. Sources told GLOBE that the 19-year-old woman who has accused Bryant of rape told them she had sex with the prosecutions star witness Bobby Pietrack - a week before she met Bryant.
Pietrack, a 23-year-old bellhop at the resort where the alleged rape took place, is the first person Katelyn Faber told about her encounter with Bryant. He can testify about her emotional state and physical appearance at the time.
But legal experts tell us that if there was a sexual encounter between Katelyn and the bellhop, it could wreck his credibility and sink the case of the Eagle County, Colo., prosecutor.
For all the details of this blockbuster story, pick up the new issue of GLOBE.
You might want to read To Kill a Mockingbird sometime, I'm sure you'd fine that guy guilty as sin though.

If a woman I care about is mentally unstable, suicidal, sleeps around, and frequents men's hotel rooms, I would have a tough time believing that on one of those encounters where she set the whole thing up ( stayed late, arranged the tour, snuck back to the hotel room, etc) that she was raped rather than it be a sexual encounter. Sorry, it's just common sense.

Finally, if even a feminist, liberal, attorney like Susan Estrich, who is also a rape victim, exactly the person you would think would support a case like this can see that this whole case is a 'trainwreck', and questions how the rape shield laws are applied, you may want to think twice about this ridiculously stance you're taking on this that ignores any and every new evidence that comes out.

I'm not assuming anything, I'm going by the information out there thus far. My comment was directed to someone who was getting all worked up because the accusations this time weren't about Kobe but about the accuser. Is it OK to launch into a character assassination when it comes to Kobe but not to question the credibility of the accuser when more information surfaces about her? We are talking about destroying someone's life and career if the charges are false, so I take that seriously.
I don't know if she did or did not, so would not presume to say she lied when I have know way of knowing. Wouldn't you agree if she told them right upfront about it, that she did not lie?
I don't not that either and we don't know if Kobe is a rapist. I posted that she was accused of lying and not that she lied. My point is this: If you are going to trash Kobe without evidence of his guilt, then, don't get upset when the tables turn. My comment that she is accused of lying stems from reading the article posted on this thread:

If this is true
had she told the prosecutors about having sex with the bellhop, they wouldn't put him on the stand as a star witness. So the conclusion is that she didn't tell them the truth.
Translation...better an innocent guy to be convicted than for a woman to have her own RELEVANT behavior come out in court.

My hero? I DESPISE basketball, and could not give a damn about Kobe Bryant. He has sinned against his wife, and opened himself up to this. But he should suffer the anger of his wife, NOT scams of filthy whores who can lie with impunity, protect their identity, get her Mom's friend in the D.A.'s office to trump up charges, and turn his life upside down. Everyone in that town knows she is a slut. Her panties have the semen of TWO MEN in it (which my wife says is the most digusting thing she has ever heard). She is a lying slut. There is no reasonable doubt about that--no doubt at all. He is GUILTY as sin. But she is guilty of fraud, and when Bryant is acquitted (if that is possible in this Cracker town), she should be charged herself and jailed for her deception.
Better that an innocent guy, facing a false rape charge have to face a life in prison, than that dozens of rapists be enabled to explore the relevance of previous sexual activity of their accuser.
Funny, how different it can sound without the spin
Saber, I think in most cases the victims sexual past is not relevant, as in most stranger cases. But in a cases like this it is relevant. The rape shield law is operating properly in this case. There is no discussion in court of how many partners she has had, etc. There is a limited discussion about who she may have had sex with immediately before and after the alleged rape.
Break up marriages, marry the wrong person, kill the wife and dump her into the harbor, go broke paying child support...
I am surprised that after 600+ posts no one pointed out to you that the alleged rape victim is not the defendant.

The name thing? Geez, the Judge and the Prosecution did not even seek sanctions or anything. It was a minor deal. Is that all that has you in a twist?
