[history]
Ramadan, the Muslim holy month devoted to contemplation, prayer and fasting, has become a synonym for violence this year, with unprecedented suicide bombings of targets friendly to the West, around the Islamic world.
Attacks in Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Turkey alone have left more than 100 people dead and injured hundreds more since Ramadan began Oct. 27, including yesterday's bombing in Istanbul. Ramadan will end with the new moon Monday.

If so-called moderate Islamnic clerics don't want the rest of the world to rise up an d wipe their religion off the face of the planet, they need to condemn these practices. Any Christian sect who sponsored 12 suicide bombings, one for each day of Christmas, culminating with a dirty nuke on 12th Night, would be declared an enemy of mankind. This is exactly what may happen to the entire religion of Islam if the Ramadan attacks continue unabated.

Why don't the Islamists celebrate their holy month by doing charity, kindness, and good works for the Israelis? It would be very healing for them.

You and I and most others around here understand the implications of this Celebrate Ramadan with Violence effort, but I'm still seeing a lot of enabling going on.
And not just among the so-called Moderate Muslims, but among many of our Christian Brethren, who rush to condemn the words of that Army General - sorry, his name escapes me - but NOT the acts of the terrorists.....They cannot even bring themselves to call on the so-called Moderate Muslims to condemn and distance themselves from the extremists.
I've experienced this disconnect several times with friends.....who put "peace" at any cost ahead of all else.

And it might get Ariel Sharon unelected, which would do more to help the PLO than 12 or 13 Ramadan's full of homocide bombings.
