Illegal immigrants are suing the state of Iowa.

They want to be able to drive legally.

The lawsuit, filed in Polk County, alleges that banning illegal immigrants from obtaining a drivers' license is unconstitutional.

It further suggests that illegal immigrants are driving anyway and their lack of training could put other drivers in harms way.

Both the Attorney Generals Office and the Department of Transportation are named as defendants in the suit.

Both agencies vow to fight the lawsuit.

While this is a local event, the same B/S is going on throughout the U.S. and probably getting traction is some states.

This crap of "It will make them safer drivers" should be beat out of every one of those who promote it. They know it is B/S, and they know that YOU know it is B/S, but no one ever seems to call them on it. It's another one of those "repeat the lie long enough" routines.

It would be interesting, and perhaps newsworthy, to see who is behind the lawsuit. I smell MECHA or the ACLU.

While I am NOT an attorney (heaven forbid!), I was always under the impression that one had to have "standing" in order to initiate a law suit. How on God's green earth can an "Illegal" imigrant have standing before a US court of law???

They do that here. A lot of apartment complexes have had to put the fear of God into them about that or they just do as they please with no regard for anybody else.

I talked with a lady this morning from Iowa. We were actually talking about how crowded Walmart is every day and got on the topic of immigration. I asked her about the impact of illegals in Iowa. She said there were parts of their small town that Americans no longer go into as they have a packing plant there and it is no longer safe with all the illegals.

She said last month she had to have her drivers license renewed and got behind legals immigrants from the Balkans. She said they were demanding interpreters and it took forever to get her license renewed. She is also angry about health insurance premiums being so high. Another angry American.

If their lack of training puts others in harms way it seems to me that the illegals driving puts everyone in fear for their own lives.This situation is like someone shooting a firearm in an unsafe,indiscriminate manner around other people.

To make use of our Second Amendment Rights for self defense could be one way to end these threats to our lives.

Just a thought that crossed my mind that needs a little serious consideration on the pros and cons. ;o)
