Illegal immigrants are suing the state of Iowa.

They want to be able to drive legally.

The lawsuit, filed in Polk County, alleges that banning illegal immigrants from obtaining a drivers' license is unconstitutional.

It further suggests that illegal immigrants are driving anyway and their lack of training could put other drivers in harms way.

Both the Attorney Generals Office and the Department of Transportation are named as defendants in the suit.

Both agencies vow to fight the lawsuit.

Im with you, It seems that the republicans are just as bad as the democrats on this. I cant stand their elitist attitude that they know better than the majority of people in this country who want the borders enforced. I live in Tucson AZ and it is becoming a hell hole here. Sure we can arrest them. They are criminals and our government is supposed to enforce the laws.

I don't know what the situation would be regarding citizen-arrest since in some communtities the police are not even allowed to question their status. And some states are excempting them from out-of-state college fees, perks not available to citizen or legal immigrants.

For too long, people in states other than California, Texas, New York, and another handful or so have been completely isolated from life as we who live around illegal people not only know it but have have suffered under it. They should be able to apply for a driver's license, just like anyone else. Legal immigrants are allowed to, so too should illegals. It only makes sense.

And of course they will be retained in custody as soon as they show up, and if they filled out any paperwork falsely, they should besubject to further charges.
