Muslims Ask Dr. Laura to Apologize for 'Tirade'

WASHINGTON, Nov. 19 /U.S. Newswire/ -- A prominent national Islamic civil rights organization today called on nationally-syndicated radio talk show host Dr. Laura Schlessinger to apologize for what the group called an "anti-Muslim tirade" on her Nov. 17 program. ("Dr. Laura's" radio program is heard by 12 million listeners on some 270 stations nationwide.)
The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said it received a number of complaints from Muslims who said Schlessinger's remarks crossed the line from legitimate commentary on terrorism to Islamophobic bigotry.
The offensive comments came in response to a mother who asked whether her 16-year-old daughter should take part in a Catholic High School class field trip to a local mosque. The purpose of the field trip was to have the students in a "moral themes" class learn how "Muslims are treated" in America.
Schlessinger said in her response: "This is a class on morals. What is the point of going to a mosque?...You're joking of course...How many Americans have tortured and murdered Muslims...I think you ought to stand up against this class and this teacher. This is despicable. You tell him you are willing to go to the mosque only if it is one that has done its best to route out terrorists in its midst...instead of complaining...I am horrified that you would let her go...I am so sick and tired of all the Arab-American groups whining and complaining about some kind of treatment...What culture and what religion were all the murderers of 9/11...they murdered us...That's the culture you want your daughter to learn about?"
(To listen to Schlessinger's response, go to: http://www.drlaura.com/listen/ Click on Nov. 17, and then on "Dr. Laura 9." There is a charge for access.)
"Dr. Laura's anti-Muslim tirade demonstrates a level of hostility toward Islam that should be of concern to her program's audience and sponsors," said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper.
"It has been our experience that one-on-one interactions with ordinary American Muslims are the best way to dispel Islamophobic stereotypes and promote religious tolerance. It is a pity that Dr. Laura would interfere with that learning process by dissuading a student from visiting a mosque." Hooper noted that Schlessinger also confused Arab-Americans and Muslims in her comments. (Many Arab-Americans are Christian.)
In 2002, CAIR sent a letter to Schlessinger asking for a clarification of her on-air claim that there is a "Muslim plan" to take over the world. When Schlessinger's extremist views have been confronted in the past, she has often responded by attacking the source of the challenge, instead of dealing with the substance of the complaints.
CAIR, America's largest Islamic civil liberties group, is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and has 16 regional offices nationwide and in Canada.
NOTE: CAIR offers an e-mail list designed to be a journalist's window to the American Muslim community. Subscribers to the list, called ISLAM-INFONET, receive news releases and other materials dealing with American Muslim positions on issues of importance to our society.

I was listening to this live, and she was dead right with what she said!
We need to find that link, the one of the FBI stats on hate crimes against Jews and hate crimes against Muslims.
Jews are attacked 12 times more in the US.
She said if she was Muslim, she would want to live here, not any other Muslim country.

"Dr. Laura's anti-Muslim tirade demonstrates a level of hostility toward Islam that should be of concern to her program's audience and sponsors," said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. They changed Dr. Laura's time slot here, so I'm not a regular audience member anymore, but I for one am very concerned about her remarks.
Concerned that more people aren't screaming the same thing from the rooftops.
To the Muslims: You want us to respect your religion? Then clean your house.

I have my bedroom radio tuned to the local FM station that carries Rush Limbaugh. They also carry Dr. Laura, but I don't generally listen to her program.
I happened to catch the latter portion of the program in question, while I was shaving and showering. And I couldn't agree more with what she was saying.
Right on, Dr. Laura. And those CAIR creeps had better decide whether they are with us or against us.

from your post, she would have learned more about what the Bible says, too!
The teacher should have opened up a Bible, saw what it said about Salvation, then compared what the Koran says about Jesus and Heaven, then gone to the Mosque
She would have learned that the Koran teaches NOTHING that Christianity does.

Hahaha this is offensive? Please this is the truth! Give me a microphone and I'll offend them back to the sand pits whence they came!

FBI: Hate Crimes Against Jews Outstrip Crimes Against Muslims 9-to-1
As an aside, I can only speak from the experiences of myself and my wife and children, anecdotially relatives, friends, and neighbors, but I've never heard of a school class going on a field trip to either a Church or Synagogue.
Is my experience unique?

And suddenly, towards the end of the eighteenth century, the Muslims start to become conscious of the fact that they lag behind historically. It is this lateness, this lag, which caused a number of countries belonging to the Islamic territories to be colonized because they found themselves in the situation of the colonizable. The one who claimed superiority or at least equality cannot grasp the process that has led him to such weakness when faced with the century-old opposite, enemy or adversary. In relation to the Occidentals, ressentiment will henceforth arise in the Arabs and the Muslims. I'm taking up the very useful concept of ressentiment as developed by Nietzsche in On The Genealogy of Morals. Nietzsche himself thought that the Islamic subject was a subject that belonged much more to aristocratic morality, the morality of affirmation, which glorifies the one who gives without trying to receive; while the nature of resentment is to be in the position of the one who receives but who does not have the means to give, the one who is not affirmative. Thus the Islamic subject is no longer the man of the "yes" that illuminates the world and creates a naturally hegemonic being; from sovereign being he has become the man of the "no", the one who refuses, who is no longer active but only re-active. This sentiment, initially unknown to the Islamic subject, will imperceptibly grow in him and take over his center. I believe that the fundamentalist actions whose agent is the Islamic subject can be explained by the growth of the latter's ressentiment, a state that had historically been unknown to him since he had come upon the scene of history as a subject. ................................................................................................................................................................................

CAIR: funded by Wahhabi money from those who believe that women should not drive, should not be seen in public unless wrapped head to foot, should be stoned if they have sex with a man outside of wedlock and who believe all Christians, Jews and non-Wahabbi Muslims as well as members of any other religion not mentioned, should be killed and their goods plundered from them, the deal, in other words, that their founder made with the first King S'aud when he was but a desert brigand chieftain.

I Just found out that a few decades ago Pakistan was a peaceful part of india. But the Muslems wanted there own territory.(Sound familier) Now look at the mess in India. It may be that not all muslems are un peaceful. But it shure apears to be a religion of hate and war over all.

My one-on-one interactions with American Muslims have not been terribly pleasant, and failed to "dispel Islamophobic stereotypes and promote religious tolerance." I am a Jew and look very much like one, and have found that many American Muslims are not terribly interested in the toleration of other religions. (How do I know I look like a Jew? Gentile strangers here and abroad, even where there are no Jews, identify me as one).

I heard the whole thing and as usual it has been taken out of context. The mother of this student (girl) called Laura because the teacher of the class on Islam wanted the daughter to wear a head covering when they went to the mosque. That upset the mother.
Actually the daughter's teacher is one of the hate America, muslim apologist marxist tenured (probably)teaching wannabe terrorists, and the daughter did not want to go to the mosque to be preached to about how good Islam is. The only thing the mother cared about was the headgear.
When it became clear what this class excursion was really all about Laura, who had told the mother to let the daughter show respect and wear a head scart, went balistic. As she should have. Hence, her remarks about who was killing whom, and who was filled with hate errupted. Laura was actually audibly shaken and her upset was evident. The mother still most likely hasn't got a clue what happened, but the daughter agreed with Dr. Laura. Apologize? I think not!!! Analize this!!!

The problem is that, while non-fanatical Muslims will reluctantly criticize terrorism, they clearly identify more closely with murderous Muslims than their innocent victims. With the ultimate Islamization of the world the goal of even the most passive Muslim, they have difficulty condemning anything that advances the agenda, even if they find the means distasteful. Allah's will, and all that crap.
I didn't make it very far into James Clavell's "Whirlwind," but an insight I gained from it is the Islamic terrorist's mindset that it must be Allah's will for him to commit mass murder, because if it wasn't, he wouldn't be successful in committing the murders. Of course, they don't follow the logic far enough to apply this premise to those instances when their plans ARE foiled.

I knew this was coming when I heard it. Of course, I'm sure few people bothered to read what she said.
And this all came in response to a caller whose daughter was going to a mosque for a field trip, to ``learn how bad America is.'' The fact that they were going to hear how terrible are country is, was what got her angry.
