The Bushes are related to Liz.

Barbara Bush is related to the Spencers (Di & Princes).

Bushes descended from Francis Cooke (woolcomber) and his son John Cooke, both of the Mayflower Party.

A minor Thanksgiving update.

Oh, GW is related to FDR, Eleanor and TR also.

Bushes not on Whipple.org GenWebSite yet for security reasons.

TR found there in Eleanor's footnotes.

Winston Churchill also had Mayflower ancestors.

As did Dan Qualye, Calvin Coolidge, Marilyn Monroe, Humphrey Bogart

and some others here on FR now

From how I read her personality, I wouldn't doubt that a bit.

She's a wiley survivor and no fool about human nature except regarding her son . . . and that only perhaps.

The blue sashes are the "Order of the Garter" created by Edward the Black Prince of Wales in the late 1300's.

The motto is "evil be to him who evil thinks"

Or, "honi soit qui mal y pense" - that is, "Honey, your silk stocking's falling down."

. . . evil grin . . .

In it she carries change for the matron in the Ladies Room.

I heard that on the way to the palace that one of the royal Clysdales let loose a zinger that sent a gaseous odor over the open coach that the Queen and George were riding in. When the Queen apologized to George, he replyed; "no need to apologize, in fact I thought it was one of the horses."

Well, that's what I heard, anyway.

Those aren't Clydesdales. They are called Windsor Greys. They are actually Dutch Warmbloods, IIRC. The dark brown coach horses are Cleveland Bays, and they are the only native British breed of coaching horse.

CERTAINLY !NOT!

I don't even read horoscopes. Those who Love Almighty God are forbidden such craziness and evils.

Evidently you are unaware of Prince Charles supposed destiny to be the next King of England . . . at which point he would also become titular head of the Anglican Church as I understand their setup there . . . given the history and all that.

How did I earn your . . . whatever it was?

If you are the person being toasted, it is considered right that you be the only one who doesn't drink to that toast. You receive the well wishes but don't wish yourself well by imbibing. If you toast another, you drink and they don't.

As for the libation, it has been reported elsewhere that his glass contains nonalcoholic beverages.
