What has happened is that today's communiciations technology has essentially validated what writer Alvin Toffler wrote 24 years ago in his famous book
The Third Wave: Toffler said that as communications technologies improve the age of a few mass media outlets pushing their version of the "truth" will come to an end.
It is the rise of this alternative media that made it possible to bring down the reign of Howell Raines as Editor-in-Chief of the New York Times, something that could not have been possible even ten years earlier.

Republicans are really more pro-elderly than the liberals said. So true! I've been following AARP's support for the Republican version of the Medicaid prescription bill. This is a case of a concerned and compassionate Republican leadership that seeks a fair but cost-effective prescription drug program for seniors. It doesn't give away the ship. It attempts to control costs. But it provides a benefit that seniors need.
And who's fighting it? The damn Democrats!!!
Wake up, America. See that it's the Republicans who are responding to your needs.

There are already several threads on each of these and I have sent E-mails and letters regarding these. I have several pages of links I send to others that outline the positions and double standards that are blatant.
It's nice to have a victory now and then but we need to keep moving, the opposition has had quite a few successes lately.

Everyone was shocked that there were Republicans pushing into the room to prevent unmonitored counting of ballots in 2000, FloridaIMHO THAT was a turning point in American history!
I'll second that - God bless 'em, every one!

Excellent article, and I have bookmarked it.
Now this for those who read this article/thread:
I would urge all who read this article and agree about how we winning battles with the libs to become monthly donors of Free Republic.
Free Republic is often the Canary in the Mine Shaft re finding out what the left wing lunatics are trying to do.
Then, we not only learn, but we take action and unify others to take action.
Cancel your subscriptions to your left wing fish wrap and send your montly savings to Free Republic. That is a double win for our side and a double loss for their side.

As we realize greater success against the liberal tide, the likelihood of the liberals resorting to violence increases.
Keep your Powder Dry.

We know that the pen is mightier than the sword, and we have found a way to make our electronic pens so effective. For the longest time, the print media could by ink by the barrel to thrash us. Now we buy electrons by the googles, and thrash them.

It may seem we are losing the war but winning some battles but there is a big one coming up next November.
And an October surprise too.

Certainly, but their last October Suprise was submarined with the revelation of Rockefeller's memo.

I did not support kicking the Reagan show off of television. It continued a bad precedent established by liberals against TV shows like Laura Schlessinger's and Rush Limbaugh's. It's fine that people made a stink about it but it's unfortunate that censorship got involved. We all know liberals are hypocrites, why did we have to follow them? It isn't censorship when people choose to vote with their pocketbooks. It is censorship when the GOVERNMENT takes it off.
To: GulliverSwift
It would have been better if the show had run and then featured a debate segment in the middle of it on each day. As nice as that sounds and a GOOD idea, it would never have happened, meantime all children now and in the future would have taken this movie as their history lesson and believed it.
it was a lie and the writers admitted it, that is why it shouldn't see the light of day
AND if they lose millions in the making of these pack of lies, next time, they will tell the truth. Maybe all the bad they can find, but the truth. That is all we ask!

"How active can we get? How de we turn this up a notch?" I did turn it up a notch, I canceled my Showtime.
due to shut off on 11/27/03 and I told them why.

My tipping point was in December 2000 watching trench-coated reporterettes standing on the steps of the Supreme Court with the decision on Bush v. Gore in their hands. My husband and I stood in front of the TV for anguished minutes waiting for the 'rettes to get to the punch line. I headed for the 'puter, waited through a slow dial-up, and lurked on FR for about 10 seconds. I had my answer and I had the transcript to read for myself. Back to the living room, the fumbling "journalists" were still looking for ways Gore might have gotten a win.
Thanks for FR as the best source of truth, available 24/7.
