[history]
I lay awake in bed for three hours straight this Thursday, panicking that I have become way too choosy when it comes to blind dates. After all, isn't New York full of lonely women in their 30s who think no one is good enough?

How does this gushing, female-oriented nonsense fall under the heading of "News/Activism?"
To: TrappedInLiberalHell
I'm still recovering from the brainwashing that taught me you have to be a sap and worry about making a good impression on the woman, rather than worrying about whether she's making a good impression on youThat is a really good point, when ever I go on a date I have always been worried about impressing the woman vrs. is she impressing me. That may explain why after a few weeks of dating a women, I never want to see her again.

... sponserd blind dateWHAT a misinterpretation of what I've written so far ... haven't you even read ONE of my succeeding posts?
HAVE I not written about 'mix and mingle' in GROUP settings on several posts?
Geesh ... NOWHERE did I mention 'blind dates' (WHEN you have seen the person beforehand anyway - IT ISN'T A BLIND DATE!)

That stereotype is untrue in the South. Lots of very attractive women go to church regularly and they don't dress like "church lady". AMEN.
I can testify to that ... if any of you recognize this abbreviation: "LLUMC" (LLUMC on Northwest Highway) you'll know of what I speak (It's been a few years since I was there though) ...

Sure, there are a lot of good-looking women in church, but getting a date with one of them is another thing. Those aren't the ones you meet on blind dates. I have vowed never to go on another blind date again as they have all been disappointing at best.

I any girl e-mailed me those threee questions I'd add her e-mail to my "block" list, sheesh.

I any girl e-mailed me those threee questions I'd add her e-mail to my "block" list, sheesh. I can't help wondering if she'll send them to potential sperm doners when she gives up and decides to get artifically inseminated.

My wife was a blind date. I had to go through about 20 or so in a flurry to get to her.
I had one other blind date of note in my life too.
Good luck and happy hunting!

I had a similar experience when I was single. I was set up by some friends with a guy they SWORE I would like. Although he was geographically undesirable (I lived in San Diego and he in Manhattan Beach) I figured, what the hell. My friends suggested we double date and go to a club oustide of Manhattan Beach to see Robben Ford. Since I was a Robben Ford fan I said OK. So I drove to Manhattan Beach and rented a room for the night. We went to the club and we all had a good time (the guy was nice, although he was really, really short. At first that turned me off, but after spending some time with him, he was pretty nice). When it was time to leave, he picked up the check and TOLD ME WHAT I OWED FOR MY SHARE OF THE FOOD. I drove to see him, I rented the room and he didn't have the class to pick up the tab? Uh uh. Character Red Flag. He called me after that but I never went out with him again.

You would first have to put up with her liberal jibberjabber, and then the patriotism would start for both parties.

Reminds me of a girl I used to date in NYC, ultra-liberal Montessori teacher, so we argued like cats and dogs, but it made for some interesting "evenings"......

Am I right that the makeup sex was worth listening to the fuzzy logic long enough to argue with her?

For a while anyway. Actually at that point, I was 22, I liked to argue, she was a bit more urbane as I was a kid from the 'burbs, and she was achingly beautiful- like Jodi Foster. Once I walked her to school and saw her pupils-It was a bit surreal.
