A GUY WITH NO CLUE WHO LEFT ME IN A STEW (WHY NYC IS FULL OF LONELY LIBERAL 30-SOMETHING WOMEN)

I lay awake in bed for three hours straight this Thursday, panicking that I have become way too choosy when it comes to blind dates. After all, isn't New York full of lonely women in their 30s who think no one is good enough?

Bottom line: there's good and bad people everywhere, but I wouldn't put 'church' even close to the top of the list of meeting people

The idea that "church girls" are "good girls" is a myth. By my own experience, they are at least as "bad" as the general population and possibly even worse on average. Nice girls are nice girls, and them being in church is not correlative.

There aren't places where you can really go to meet genuinely good prospects in bulk. At best, you can go to places that have a lower concentration of bad choices. (This goes for both genders, of course.)

That makes me think of Metallica's "Saint Anger" for some reason...

I told him I would expense it - as research

If I found out I was not a date, but research material, another of her lab rats. . . I'd probably scoot out of there, too.

The person who said church was a good place to meet people should be shot. Along with the person who said the grocery store and the person who said the laundry mat.

I have heard, through the grapevine, mind you, that grocery stores and laundromats are a good place for singles to meet other singles.

I have also heard, again through the grapevine, that "Oak and fern" bars apparently don't work in respect of "significant, long term relationships." Apparently said "body exchanges" are useful, however, if one is just trying to hook up for a one-night stand.

Having no experience (read "success!") whatsoever in any of those kinds of establishments, are there any confirms on those bits of singles folklore?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Odd you should post that grocery stores and laundry mats are not good places to meet singles as I was asking that very question.

How do you respond to my query re: "Oak and fern bars?"

Whew! This dame makes it much too complicated. I started dating my husband when I was 16. Seven years later we married and have been married 33 years. I looked for four things: Good character, religious values, treats parents with respect, and likes kids. The rest was immaterial.

Strays are different because they can show a woman has a good heart for taking them in. Though having too many, strays or not can be a sign of problems.

So I guess a Stray cat should count as a ½ cat

Normally, just under 40%, our numbers are growing on campuses and in the under-30 set, making finding the perfect someone easier statistically.

I went to a college that had a Republican majority. Among men. At that age, women tend to be much more liberal than men. Feminism has quite a hold on college age women.

her lack of morals (charging her date to her employer) might have turned him completely off?

I seriously doubt that.

Kim Cattrell is a hottie nevertheless.

Possibly, 20 years ago. These days, she's gross. And old.

this guy ACTUALLY TOOK this test

I have had similiar experiences. My take on it is if I need to perform well on an interview just to spend $100 on a stranger, I'd just as soon dine alone.

Yeah, Never date a liberal. I have dated some women who were liberal leaning on some issues and that's was OK

Whatever you do, do not have premarital sex (or postmarital, for that matter) with a liberal woman, unless your unborn child's life means nothing to you. Abortion is the primary reason why child-bearing aged women tend to be liberal.
