A GUY WITH NO CLUE WHO LEFT ME IN A STEW (WHY NYC IS FULL OF LONELY LIBERAL 30-SOMETHING WOMEN)
NY Post ^ | November 16, 2003 | BRIDGET HARRISON

I lay awake in bed for three hours straight this Thursday, panicking that I have become way too choosy when it comes to blind dates. After all, isn't New York full of lonely women in their 30s who think no one is good enough?

I NEED to read those columns!

Reminds me of an experience I had myself about a year ago, where this girl was very obviously hitting on me.

Since I'm a dolt, I was ignoring it for a good long while, but eventually it became obvious. We had plans to go out, until she and her gaggle of girl friends walked up on myself and another right wing crazy listening to Rush Limbaugh and laughing. The conversation went like this:

Woman: "[my name], you two are having fun. What are you doing?"
Me: "We're listening to Rush. He's on a roll today."
Woman: "Rush Limbaugh?!?"
Me: "Yeah."
Woman: "You're a [with a very big edge] Republican?"
Me (realizing that this was the end of the road anyway): "Sometimes. They're actually too liberal for me a lot of it."

That was pretty much the end of that. She doesn't talk to me anymore, and I'm fine with that, as she is a slightly younger version of this article's author. The best part is friends of mine have noticed her on several internet dating services since then, complaining about not meeting "the right guy."

Was he that desperate to get away?

Apparently so. A picture along with the article would probably settle it.

I guess they don't put her byline picture online, but she's scrawny and looks like a deranged rodent. She's got that "I'm deep, yet troubled, and will take you down with me" look.

I know it sounds crazy, but I was musing that if I start dating again, I ought to ask right off the bat: "What party do you belong to, and who did you vote for in the 1996 and 2000 elections?" It would save so much time. Maybe that sounds intolerant of ME, but it would definitely say a lot about her values that might take several dates otherwise.

That's actually quite sane. Early this year, I decided that if a guy has either voted for the Hildebeast and/or voted for her husband and doesn't profoundly regret it, there's no point in pursuing things.

AFAIC, any guy who thinks that voting for a clinton is a good thing does not share my values, morals and ideals.

And, frankly, the same goes for any guy who voted for Gore and/or supports Dean, Kucinich, Clark or any 'rat.

A jerk? It sound like he was dying to get away from the crazy leftist.

Actually, it sounded like he's a leftist metrosexual himself. Remember, he dissed Ariel Sharon.

Yeah, and then made it clear she was going to dog off personal expenses on her employer

BINGO!

Pre-cab: "I'm a cheater, ripping off my boss."

Post cab: "You cheap bastard, making me pay for my own ride."

No! They are female supremacists; guessing they don't like being called that either. Guess that's why I'm still single, too. heh.

Probably, although, by and large, that's what actually works with such wonders as Bridget.

And when she offered to drop the expenses on her employer, that probably crossed one of HIS criteria, and what guilt should he have felt when the NY Post was surely picking up the cab fare too?

My thought at that point would be: so the point of this evening was so you could get some material for your column? Your date with ME is going to be written up in your COLUMN in the morning? Bye.

Besides that, one of the bigger problems with her (and lots of women) is the expectation that some guy to make her "feel great", while she herself has no thought of what SHE could do to make a guy feel great

YW, I hate to add to your sorrows, but SIC is written by male homosexuals. It is what they think they would be like as women.

They are correct.

Whew. Your threshold is a lot lower than mine. That woman is a low 2 on my scale, a 5 is the not-great-not-bad level.

BTW, asking a woman what she thinks of "Clinton habitually cheating on, and lying to, Hillary" is always a great test to save you a lot of time, money, aggravation and regret. If she hesitates, she is likely a conservative and you can boldly proclaim Clinton a repulsive reprobate. Her conservative side will instantly love your morals, your braveness, and your rock-solid family values.

If she looks at you like you told her she's a flaming idiot, well, then you just found out she is, and it's time to run.

Woman: "You're a [with a very big edge] Republican?"

Me (realizing that this was the end of the road anyway): "Sometimes. They're actually too liberal for me a lot of it."

Funny stuff. I've gotten decent mileage out of responding to shocked inquiries about whether I agree with that awful Rush person with, "Yeah... Rush is a little too moderate for me, but his heart's in the right place."

Here's a newsflash for ya, coolie. You are 32 years old--your Lollapalooza days are long since over.

She strikes me as more of a Lilith Fair type of gal...
