Correct me on this, but wasn't George Bush Sr. a member of the CFR?

Weren't also former senior administration Republicans over the past memebers also?

As part of the Grassroots effort, we need some people to do some research on $oro$ and others major donors to the Dems for a website we are about to launch.

We have some volunteers already and could use more -- a lot of big money donors to research. If you would like to be part of the Grassroots group for Bush-Cheney '04 that will be exposing these large RAT donors, please freep mail me ASAP. We need your help.

Also could use some graphics people!

Thanks!

You are thinking of Council on Foreign Relations.

Soros comes off as a James Bond villain. Wonder what kind of secret headquarters he has?

We'll be hearing soon. Soros Moscow headquarters for his Open Society organization were raided by Putin last week. The police hauled off everything down to the carpet. Probably lots of info to be had on Soros for...$$$$$$

Actually looking back on previous elections like the two where basically unknown governors (Carter and Clinton) became known well enough in one election cycle to become our president, I think that $oro$ has been financing the rats for a long time.

Miss Marple has questioned the sudden campaign wealth of another unknown governor, Metro Sexual Howie Dean. Again, we should question if $oro$ is priming Howie's metro sexual campaign fund.

Why on earth is the left so damn terrified of Bush? He is a moderate Republican when it comes to most issues. As a Conservative, I am repeatedly annoyed with Bush's compromises and big-government cave-ins. The left didn't even freak out this much for REAGAN, for pete's sake. Can someone explain it? I just don't get it at all.

The left knows that Bush can get a coalition of moderates and conservatives to band together against them, keeping them out of power. That alone is enough to get them crazy.

In addition, Bush is a dreaded Christian, and looking at him for them is like holding a cross in front of a vampire.

Also, although you may not consider President Bush conservative, rest assured a large chunk of the elecotrate does.

Here's hoping that the recent raid and examination of computers from Soros' Russian foundation sheds some light on the dark dealings of this oligarch.

Why on earth is the left so damn terrified of Bush?

Detest is the word, but they mask their out-right hatred for him behind words such as 'cowboy' and 'dangerous.'

Democrats are seething mad about Florida and the fact that their attempt to steal the election failed.

That's part of what we are looking for people to research and we can expose what they are up to from the big money donors.

I think this goes back to the 1970's unless I am way off. This has all been orchestrated and Reagan/Bush interrupted what they were after IMHO.

I've had to change my mind about CFR. GW has ties to http://www.cfr.org (council for foreign relations) if not membership. His father has been a member. I wouldn't be surprised if Soros has been a member, as suggested in this thread. CFR may be criticized in several ways, but we should ignore the conspiracy theories, especially the Illuminati bunk. Good and bad politicians have been CFR members, including Reagan.

CFR was created by the Rockefellers in 1921 and one of the first things it heroically did was encourage the Anglosphere's involvement in the middle east. It was this simple but astute effort that secured our access to fossil fuels during WWII. Without it, the west might have collapsed.

How does CFR influence its members? That's a good question, but my suggestion would be that one start with its mission statement below. A simple answer would be through association and common ambitions.

It's clear that some of our best and some of our worst foreign policy efforts have been led by CFR members or people who were listening to them. CFR is literally the history of our government's involvement overseas over the last 80 years. Those who accuse CFR of controlling our country are either falling prey to anti-Americanism or are actively seeking to sew discontent and anger within our midst. CFR members run the gamut of political opinions and ideals, and often differ with each other in significant ways. I would complain that CFR members have had too much confidence in American power, and not enough confidence in our ideals. Mission statement:

Council on Foreign Relations is an independent, national membership organization and a nonpartisan center for scholars dedicated to producing and disseminating ideas so that individual and corporate members, as well as policymakers, journalists, students, and interested citizens in the United States and other countries, can better understand the world and the foreign policy choices facing the United States and other governments. The Council, which is headquartered in New York with an office in Washington, DC, does this by:
  • Convening meetings in New York, Washington and in other select American cities where senior government officials, global leaders, and prominent thinkers come together with Council members to debate and discuss the major issues of our time;
  • Conducting a wide-ranging studies program where Council fellows produce articles and books that analyze foreign policy issues and make concrete policy recommendations;
  • Publishing Foreign Affairs, the preeminent journal covering international affairs and U.S. foreign policy;
  • Maintaining a diverse membership, including special programs to foster interest and expertise in the next generation of foreign policy leaders;
  • Sponsoring independent task forces whose reports help set the public foreign policy agenda; and
  • Providing up-to-date information about the world and U.S. foreign policy on the Council's website, www.cfr.org.

Soros is a rich unattractive leftist creep. I can't imagine him doing anything but turning off the general electorate.

I did a quick google search on Soros - seems he's a BIG supporter ($$$) of legal drugs.

"REALITY-BASED" DRUG EDUCATION PUSHED BY PRO-DRUG LEGALIZERS

On October 29, 1999, the pro-drug, pro-legalization Lindesmith Center and the San Francisco Medical Society held a "Just Say Know: New Directions in Drug Education" conference in California.

Nearly 300 educators, health professionals, drug treatment and prevention specialists, parents and students from around the world attended the event.

The conference is another step by the drug culture to increase the pressure to replace the "no-use" messages which work with "safe-use" programs in schools throughout the world. This form of "harm reduction" complains that, since kids are going to use drugs anyway, they should be taught to use drugs "responsibly" and that they can have "healthy" relationships with drugs.

Publicly, the supporters of "safe-use," "reality-based" drug education deny that they want to legalize drugs. They say that they want to "reform" drug laws and drug education. However, the policies they propose are integral components of the world-wide drug legalization movement.

The Lindesmith Center and its west-coast director, Marsha Rosenbaum, are financed by billionaire George Soros. Soros has pumped over $30 million into the drug legalization movement in the past decade. His money helped pass several state initiatives to legalize marijuana for "medicine" and helped set up a sophisticated drug culture prominence on the Internet. His support of drug "harm reduction" and the lessening of drug law enforcement and penalties is moving many nations dangerously close to legal, increased drug use.

The "no-use" drug education policy and enforcement has widely been credited with the dramatic reductions of youth drug use from 1980-1992 in America. It helped reverse the widespread youth drug problem which had been encouraged by the lenient drug policies pushed by many of the same drug culture supporters in the 1960's and 1970's.

"Safe Drug Philosophy Is a Step Backward", Sue Rusche, S.F. Chronicle, 1999
