FREE REPUBLIC NETWORK LAUNCHES WEB SITE ON SENATE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE MEMO, CALLS FOR SENATOR ROCKEFELLER TO RESIGN
(Washington, DC) The Free Republic Network today announced the unveiling of www.intelmemo.com, a new web site that provides news, analysis and research material regarding the plans by partisan Democrats on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence to use sensitive intelligence data for political attacks against the Bush Administration, as outlined in a recently revealed internal memo. The Network also called for the immediate resignation of the Committees Vice Chairman, Senator Jay Rockefeller. Executive Director Robert Hahn released the following statement:
The members of the Senate Intelligence Committee have access to our governments most sensitive secrets. The lives of Americas soldiers and intelligence agents depend on their using that knowledge responsibly. It is now clear that certain partisan members of this vital committee have conspired to misuse their positions, influence, and access to classified information to undermine President Bush during the 2004 campaign season.
The leaked memo describes a phony independent investigation designed to let the Democrats dig through classified material information that should be used to improve our national security to support and publicize their political agenda. We agree with Senator Zell Miller that this abuse must not be tolerated, ignored, or excused, and that heads should roll.
Therefore, I ask every American citizen to join me in calling for the immediate resignation of Jay Rockefeller from the United States Senate. As ranking Democratic member of the Intelligence Committee, Senator Rockefeller is responsible for the acts of his subordinates. We cannot permit America's national security to be damaged by partisan political warfare.
The complete contents of the memo, press articles, transcripts from the Congressional Record and other information can be found at www.intelmemo.com.
The Free Republic Network is a 501(c)(4) public service corporation whose mission is to organize, train and support conservative activists nationwide. It provides information and organizational services to more than 50 regional and issue-based chapters around the country, and serves as the activism arm of the Free Republic Forum.

You will know when the Republicans are serious about this when they form an investigative commitee. The pressure is squarely on the senate leader to take this action. So far all he has done is to cancel any further intelligence commitee meetings. Well, we need to get the word out, and pressure them into doing so. Let's all get busy spreading the word... :0)

My Letter to Rockefeller...
I tried to be respectful...
Dear Senator Rockefeller,
I have grown increasingly uncomfortable with the growing perception that the Democrats on the Intelligence Committee have chosen a path to politicize the Senate Intelligence Committee and try to use their influence there to go after President Bush. I can understand and respect the minorities desire to make sure that things are being investigated regarding intelligence. It is for that reason that I believed, initially, that the entire issue of the leaked memo was probably a lot of hot air.
Over the weekend I finally read the memo and was shocked. To think that someone of any party would try to undermine the President by the use of such a critically important committee. As I have read more about this I have become more enraged that democrats that have addressed the memo issue have tried to attack the messenger instead of addressing the greater concern.
Senator, in order to preserve the integrity of the committee the author of this memo must be identified and removed from the committee. In the words of Senator Zell Miller, If this isnt treason, it is certainly a first cousin.
Thank you,
Lee Morgan

A very nice, respectful letter - you should consider making it a little shorter (if possible), and sending it off as a letter to the editor of your local newspapers, too!
