The FBI reported that there were 931 hate crimes committed against Jews in 2002, while 155 were committed against Muslims. Anti-Jewish incidents decreased only slightly from 2001, but anti-Muslim incidents fell sharply from 481. The good news is that the overall count of hate crimes decreased about 25 percent from 2001 to 2002. The bad news is that hate crimes against Jews held almost steady.
This is further evidence that anti-Semitism, especially in the context of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, has become a widespread phenomenon, especially in Europe, the Arab world, and on American college campuses. One only need to note the vicious bombing of two synagogues in Istanbul today, which killed 23 and wounded 303. Fourteen Muslims were killed also.
Anti-Semitism on college campuses is perhaps a most disturbing trend. Universities are supposed to be places of higher learning, tolerance, and open-mindedness. When it comes to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, they are not. Just look at the history of the so-called Palestine Solidarity Movement on campuses. Things had gotten so bad in 2002 that Harvard president Lawrence Summers publicly condemned as anti-Semitic various pro-Palestinian groups' attempts to get universities to divest from Israel.
Despite documentation showing these pro-Palestinian groups' anti-Semitic activities, universities continue to permit such organizations to meet on campus. But some are fighting back, and doing it effectively. Organizations like Campus Watch, the Anti-Defamation League, FrontPage Magazine, and my own organization, netwmd.com, LLC, have been turning the spotlight on these anti-Semitic activities.
But anti-Semitism will not die until people of good conscience actively oppose it. I encourage readers to click on the links shown in this article, get informed, and get involved.
Yep, it's an in vogue, politically acceptable stance. But often it dresses itself up in anti-Zionism.
That, I didn't know. Excellent news. Now it's time to investigate the other half a little more thoroughly.
They always lie. Their mouths move. They want to assimilate us. They will do or say anything to advance their cause. They are with honor, integrity, or G-d.

They are without honor, integrity, or G-d.
Look at the stark contrast in Germany in the 1930s. While America is now accused of being "fascist," attacks on Jews, whose only crime was to be Jewish, were rampant in Germany. In America, we face a minority population led by CAIR and AIM that refuses to credibly denounce terrorism against Americans. We face a minority population whose religion has been associated with countless acts of violence are committed against Judeo-Christians world-wide. We face a minority population who is itself confused about its future and finds conflicting loyalties in an increasaingly global war between its religion's extremists and modernity.
And yet we accept these people on the basis of their individual humanity, and even protect them as they live among us. Because we are Americans, and we abhor race and religious hatreds. Let this ratio stand in stark contrast to intolerance shown to Jews and Americans in Palestine, Chechnya, Kashmir, Nigeria, and Kosovo.
This is America. This is not Nazi Germany. This will never be a political hate machine that systematically identifies a minority as an arch enemy. Bringing to zero the number of hate crimes against muslims will speak out even more strongly the brilliant truth that is America: this is a beacon of freedom to the world. We are not at war with peoples' religious beliefs. We are at war against intolerance, and it will not be accepted here, or in the mideast. Note: I'm not advocating that we encourage additional Islamic immigration, not on the basis of what we're seeing in Europe. But that's a different issue.
Indeed. There are people in this world who do not love their fellow man, and I HATE people like that!
If not, they should.
