Sen. Ted Kennedy called President Bush's judicial nominees "Neanderthals" on Friday, a group that includes Hispanic lawyer Miguel Estrada and African-American Judge Janice Rogers Brown. Boasting of his party's resolve in the face of GOP attempts to stop their filibuster, Kennedy told the Senate, "What has not ended is the resolution and the determination of the members of the United States Senate to continue to resist any Neanderthal that is nominated by this president of the United States for any court, federal court in the United States."
Kennedy's overtly racist language stunned even liberal CNN correspondent Jonathan Karl, who reported, "Strong words from Ted Kennedy suggesting that some of these nominees are Neanderthals."
Karl said Kennedy's harsh tone was "exactly what Republicans point to when they say it is the Democrats that have been the extremists on this."

I'd like to think that he'll pay for this but he probably won't. Just like Byrd.

Two-fer ping, indeed.
I guess we're all knuckle-draggers now.
Well, at least we didn't leave a woman to die in a submerged car, eh, Teddy?

Hey Teddy, why don't you just call the blacks and hispanics "monkeys" in your nauseating hate speech. I would point out that these are brilliant nominees who didn't cheat or pay people to take their exams like you did at college, you murdering SwimmerBoy Laed*ss Socialist cockroach!

I'd love to see Teddy's IQ compared to the judges he is filibustering, and subsequently called Neaderthals. If he is more intelligent than any of them, I'll eat a sh!t sandwich.
To: kattracks
Kennedy's overtly racist language I never realized that Neanderthals were a race.

Better a Neanderthal than a gaseous, drunken fraud who's a disgrace to the entire Celtic race.

Go to C-Span:
http://www.c-span.org/ and click on the "Senate GOP News Conference on Judicial Nominations Debate (11/14/2003)"
About 30 minutes into the press conference, Lindsey Graham GOES OFF on Kennedy's comments about these judges being Neanderthals, and Orrin Hatch says that he and Ted Kennedy have been friends for a long time, but wonders what has happened to Ted Kennedy in the past couple of years, that his comments have become exceedingly volatile.
On my version of Real Player, I can fast forward through to the part I want to see, but the whole news conference is well worth watching.

I think they're a completely separate species, so he's really a species-ist.
