[history]
WITH a few notable exceptions, Broadway's preview buzz is usually on target. If word of mouth suggests a show is terrific, as in the case of "Hairspray," it usually is.
On the other hand, if the rumor mill grinds out tales of blood, horror and discontent, they are also, often, all too true.

I hope this doesn't mean another lawsuit between Rosie and whoever. I don't think I can stomach watching her on TV again with her "wife" complaining in all her glorious language how she's been mistreated.

Except to shock and annoy Conservatives like me her in Ohio (where it was served up with a sly "we're smarter than you" leer) in what way would "Urinetown" have changed if it had been named, say, "Dryville?" Considering only the content, would this naming change have any plot repecusssions?

Poor Rosie. She should have checked the depth of that pool before she jumped in.

"It's a pity,"
Why? Because it is a gay/lesbian production. This review is full of tearful pathos.
Now I'LL bet the same reviewer will lose his breath trashing Mel Gibson's movie.

She had real Ralph-Cramdenesque tone in her voice when she said "my *wife*" the other day, didn't she?
LOL

God how debauched our culture has become.
On a more positive note, the Reagan movie had a pro-gay agenda (bizarre) and was deep-sixed, and so, apparently will be this play. :)

So sad, so very very sad, when a homo-produced play crashes and burns. What a bull dyke that O'Donnel is. She referred to her "partner" as "my wife" outside the courthouse. Her next play should be a horror called "When Homo's Adopt".

Quoting Howard Stern, Rosie now "looks like Babe Ruth." A local radio guy said she looks like "an American League umpire".
