You refute a doctor's word simply because he wasn't in the ER. I haven't, hence, I didn't need to be in the ER. BUT YOU MUST HAVE BEEN *wink* *wink* BECAUSE YOU KNOW BETTER WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE DOCTOR'S OPINION THAN THE DOCTOR--you must have first "hand" knowledge. (pun intended)

"Cite and supply your statistics to back up your claims that a 25 year old woman would ROUTINELY HAVE FRACTURES SUCH AS THOSE EVIDENCED BY TERRI: LUMBAR SPINE, BOTH KNEES, ANKLES, RIBS, and FEMOR.

I never made any such statement or claim. You completely ignore and delete the subject of osteoporosis.

But there is plenty of evidence of fractures without the necessity of battery or outside trauma, one I'm sure anyone that served in the military can attest to. Shin splints, heel splints, knee fractures, condyle fractures- all due to marching on a hard surface. These involve young men in their physical prime and did not suffer from osteoporosis.

Unless somehow you believe that they were "worked over pretty good".

Also Judge Greer is on the Comittee for Guardianship Monitoring and has allowed Michael to slack on his responsibilities concerning requirements of guardians under Florida law. Judge Greer should be removed from this position immediately as well as investigation into whether he is legally on the bench or not.

They may not be "worked over pretty good", but they are "worked out pretty good". In the infantry, they are often carrying about 80 to 100 pounds of gear, supplies, and fire power for many miles over rough terrain. It's not surprising they are pushed over the amount the human body can support without causing problems.

A woman with osteoporosis can lose as much as 30% of her entire bone mass in a single year! Do the math.

Doctors don't worry about osteoporosis in healthy women until after menopause. Terri was 26 years old. And since she has lived for 13 years under stressful conditions including the non-treatment of infections, dehydration and starvation attempts for 6 days, she must have been in very good health.

I thought I would share this nice reply I received from the advocacy center. paulf@advocacycenter.org

Re: Terri Schiavo

Thank you for your thoughtfulness and interest regarding Ms. Schiavo and the complex ethical issues that she represents. It benefits us all for people such as you to enter into the dialogue about disability issues.

Since the initial withdrawal of hydration and nourishment from Terri Schiavo on Wednesday October 15, 2003 The Advocacy Center has received numerous complaints of possible neglect concerning Ms. Schiavo. Additionally we have received reports that there may have been a change in circumstance regarding Ms. Schiavo's condition since the last full review in State Court.

It is The Advocacy Center's federal mandate (pursuant to 29 U.S.C. §794(a) (doc 1) and 42 U.S.C.§1504 3(a)(2)(B) as the designated Protection and Advocacy Agency for the State of Florida to investigate complaints of abuse and/or neglect against persons with disabilities.

The Center is presently making demands in order to acquire reports and records necessary to undertake a thorough and impartial investigation of complaints we have received.

In order to preserve the integrity of our investigation during its pendency no further statement will be made to the public/ Press.

These stress fractures are almost exclusively reported within the first 12 weeks of military service- long before they are "carrying about 80 to 100 pounds of gear, supplies, and fire power for many miles over rough terrain".

Female recruits suffer stress fractures at 10 times the rate of their male counterparts.

Actually, the activity you refer to doesn't appear to be implicated with the development of stress fractures.

I haven't seen the 10 times more than their male counterparts before. Where did yo get this statistic? I wouldn't be surprised though, given that womem soldiers don't have the physique to handle the weight that a male soldier can handle. But as I said before, doctors don't worry about osteoporosis in healthy women until menopause.

Actually, the activity you refer to doesn't appear to be implicated with the development of stress fractures.

It stands to reason that carrying 100 extra pounds will cause more injuries. Talk to someone in the infantry. They normally carry this amount of gear. It's not a separate activity, it is part of their normal activity.

So where are the vaunted medical records showing she'd gotten all these fractures or even most of them, prior to that fateful night.

You completely ignore and delete the subject of osteoporosis.

No I don't. Please make a relevant statement, AS PERTAINS TO TERRI, about what are the statistics for 25-year-old women and their LIKELIHOOD to have SUCH EXTENSIVE osteoporsis and to such damaging effects as YOU CLAIM IS POSSIBLE with Terri.

Shin splints, heel splints, knee fractures, condyle fractures- all due to marching on a hard surface. These involve young men in their physical prime and did not suffer from osteoporosis.

PLEASE MAKE POSTS that RELATE TO TERRI. Was Terri in the military that she would have had osteoporosis from MARCHING? No.

Please keep your "guesses" on track with what's relevant to guess about. Terri was not 80; Terri was not in the military. Terri was a young woman. I know this is hard for you, but let's STAY FOCUSED ON HER.

P.S. By the way, as to your speculation about why I didn't post yesterday, you are way off target. It is not unusual for me not to post on Sunday. I go to church and after services I donate my time to help out in the office or ongoing church projects. A review of the posts made here yesterday would indicate that there are more than a few that are not similarily constrained.

Please tell us which church (or denomination) it is. And by any chance have you had Mr. Felos (he DOES claim to be a "minister") to speak there?

And to be willing to err for death is just beyond the pale.

Not to mention that those who espouse it are similarly beyond the pale.
