[history]
A new "hate-crimes" proposal supported by Democrats and key Senate Republicans, including Sen. Orrin G. Hatch of Utah, would vastly expand the federal government's power to prosecute such crimes committed anywhere in the country.

$10 says Hatch is one of the pubs blocking the rule change on the judicial nominee battle. Lott is another, and Roberts is a third.
To: kattracks
I wish someone would throw that Hatch to the wolves.

Hatch really needs to pull his nose clear of Kennedy, and take a deep clean breath...
The poor fellow has gone "native" on us...
Time to send him to the basement..

You know, those bastards haven't begun to see any real "hate crimes"...
Why the hell isn't a crime, simply a crime..
Why do certain crimes need to have extra punishment?
Why are some people more equal than others, requiring extra protection under the Law?
What the hell ever happened to "equal protection under the law"..

They won't be satisfied until they control our minds, not through logic or pursuasion, which they can't do, but by force.

Well, I for one prefer to see them dead before I see them satisfied...

Time to send him to the basement..Time to send him to the "real America".
Me thinks he has been in office too long and is losing touch with what we as American people, who have supported him, are about.
He certainly has been impressing a considerable amout of "elitist attitude" lately.

May be off subject but I was watching a noooooze show this morning that spoke of a freedom of speech issue regarding video games like grand theft auto .
Now I no more see a game leading to killing than I do firearms ownership but if gamers stand on freedom of speech to keep what the socialists call dangerous would this possibly work to fight such as the AWB cosmetic revenue based anti-gun laws also ?
Just a question I thought might apply.....Comments ?........Stay Safe !

"The government that governs least, governs best...."
It was right then, it is right now...
My pet peave, is when one of those cute congress critters make a stupid statement like -"You don't need an assult weapon to hunt for Bambi"
Well, if the dumb sonofabitch would study history, they would KNOW that our Founders didn't set about to protect our right to bear arms in order to hunt Bambi -- they wanted the citizens armed in a manner to discourage foreign armies or local tyrants....

FReepers need to start action to stop this.
People steal, rape, and murder for a variety of reasons. The result is that in the case of murder, the victim is just as dead, regardless of the perpetrators motive. The law doesn't need to consider why a crime is commited in order to establish guilt.
I think it was Canada that recently prosecuted someone for reading Bible scriptures against homosexuality in some public setting. Seems they considered that a "hate crime".
Is that where we are headed?

Scumface Hatch has become one of the most offensive, anti-freedom legislators in existence. He ought to do this once free country a huge favor and shoot himself. Either that or move to Cuba where he belongs.

Hatch is a worthless old gasbag bent on marginilizing our freedom. The dims are socialist/commies, and most of the repubs are egomaniacs bent on self agrandizement at the expense of our taxes and personal freedom. There are very few exceptions.

It certainly won't be Sean Hannity. I'm sure he'll continue to invite Hatch on his show and then fail to ask him the tough questions - like why are you in bed with the devil on this legislation? Disgusting.
