Well, Freepers it's going to be a looooooooooong day in the senate today, tonight, Thursday, and I'm guessing into Friday.
I figure we'll need a LIVE thread for this.
Looks like Tom Daschle is going to be speaking at 8:45am this morning followed by Frist at 9:11am

Last night when Frist was doing unanimous consent requests one of them was that BRYD would get to speak for 1/2 hr on the condition that Frist would get the Floor at 6PM....
I'm just waiting to see what the dems do once Byrd gets the floor.

This reminds me of something. Oh yes
What is the call-in number and do they take Amex ? Can I get on my local TV if I donate there ? Are we going to have guest liberals and conservatives telling us heart wrenching stories about how they cope daily with their senate jobs ? Will Frist cry while singing the final song ? Stay tuned.

I've emailed Frist and my two senators.
I hope they can get this over with.
You know, if the nominees are sooooo radical, then there should be no question that they will not be confirmed. Why are the few afraid to let the vote proceed?
Yeah, we all know why.

30 hour? What's wrong with 300 hour? Or 3000 hour? It's all for show and I'd bet a dime to a donut that the repubs will draw the short straw if they approach the democs with an hour limit....
To: buffyt
Who ever heard of a filibuster that invited the opposition to speak. The Republicans in the senate can't seem to do anything right. On the bright side, though, as long as they waste their time "filibustering" they aren't passing laws and regulations that will cost us money.
Can't Bush just make interim appointments of these judges during the Thanksgiving and Christmas recess?

How many Senators are needed to change the Senate rules?Depends which party. If Independent or Rat, it only takes one. If republican then it takes 60. Clear ?

Better get to the store before they run out of bread, milk and toilet paper. The storm, she is a comin' :)

as long as they waste their time "filibustering" they aren't passing laws and regulations that will cost us money. Not really, don't worry about them not getting what they want. They will justy have their staffs working on it all, and it will be rolled into the omnibus bill that will emerge at the end.

He's wearing a yellow tie with black skid marks on it. I don't know if this is his Fox & Friends tie.
