Cornell Student Assaulted (Black on White "hate crime" at Ithaca Ludacris concert?)

ITHACA--A white female student assaulted Sunday night leaving the Nappy Roots and Ludacris concert at Cornell's Barton Hall told The Sun that she was the victim of a hate-crime, which left her with a ruptured ear drum and thirteen stiches on her face.

The Cornell Police morning report noted that the police received a "complaint from a student that was physically assaulted by an unkown individual." The report indicated that the assault occurred at 11:47 p.m. and that the investigation is continuing.

The incident, as described by the victim, began when the student had a minor altercation with another girl who was at the concert while the performace was still going on.

"She said 'Get your white hair out of my face,'" the student said.

After the student put her hair up to get it out of the way, the alleged assailant proceeded to hit her, at which point the student and her friends moved to the back of the concert space.

When the concert was over, the student separated from her friends to get into her car and said she found herself surrounded by a group made up of five black females and one black male, who have yet to be identified.

"They said they were gonna f**k up my pretty white face," she said.

Allegedly, the incident turned physically violent when one of the girls slapped the student hard enough to rupture her eardrum, a blow which threw her off balance. The other five assailants proceeded to kick and punch her as she fell down.

"They pulled a ton of my hair out," the student said.

The six assailants stopped hitting the victim only when one of her male friends came out of the concert and stepped in.

"If it wasn't for [him], I don't know how long it would have gone on," she said.

The victim said doctors estimate it will take her eardrum a year and a half to heal.

"This was a hate crime, and it shouldn't happen to another person. The more people know the better," said the victim's mother.

The University is currently investigating the situation.

"We take any sort of hate crime very very seriously," said Linda Grace-Kobas, interim vice president for communications and media relations. "We will thoroughly investigate all aspects of the incident."

"I would encourage her to file a bias-related incident report," said Robert Harris, vice provost for diversity and faculty development. "We have a process and with a report we can begin putting that process to work."

Once an incident report is filed, a University employee is assigned the case to assist victims in pursuing their situation, according to Harris.

"It's really hard to live with this. I want people to know because I need to press charges. If anyone has any information, tell the police because [they] don't know anything right now," the student said.

Anyone who has ever seen Ithaca along the beautiful Cayuga Lake can attest to the fact that it is one gorgeous setting...Cornell sits proudly above the lake...

We used to make an annual July 4th picnic up to the Falls just a little north of Ithaca, used to set up our picnic stuff, then go up and pick Bing Cherries at one of the many orchards around....

the Lake was always cold it seemed, but when you are a kid, that doesn't matter one bit...

I have such fine memories of my time spent in the Ithaca area, I just hate to see people calling it the "city of evil".....

well, maybe it has a lot of nutty professors, but you know what?.......we let these kinds of cretins take over the best places in America...they move in, and we move out......

I believe you. We live in bizarro world my friend where right is wrong and wrong is right, where murdering the innocent is the same and killing the guilty, where homos are revered and praised and boyscouts are belittled and trashed, where perverts and molesters are victims with sympathy and their prey are ridiculed, its a strange place thats probably why I am here.

I will say this, that many (not all) blacks do behave in a primal sort of way. This is exemplified in their music (rap is very basic - a drum or bass beat with a sort of chanting over the top of it), their dance is again very primal and unrefined (most of it has to do with grinding of the pelvis and but into another partner), their IQ on average (not all but most) is below almost all other races, their propensity for crime is above average, and if ever confronted you would see first hand that they are much more likely to incite violence (which is not unlike other groups but I do feel that they are above average in my very real personal experiences) when together in a group.

Are these caused partly by environment - yes. But they can not be all explained by environment - there are many races which come from similiar environments that do not behave this way. So yes some of this is genetic not to say that other races dont have their faults either but to say that we shouldn't look at these things from a purely statistical and scientific standpoint is to only ignore the issue.

There is much evidence for this thought FBI crime statistics, review of the SAT/ACT tests, the book the Bell Curve, prison statistics, BET TV, MTV etc all show what I am suggesting is the obvious truth but is belied by the media, liberals and even yes PC republicans/conservatives. If we face these issues and discuss them frankly and honestly then we might foster change.

Still no coverage of this event in the local daily newspaper, despite previous "White on Black hate crimes" getting over a month of front page coverage.

Gawd, takes me back to high school in the '70s. You just couldn't have have a fist fight with a black guy and then forget about it.
You then had to face all his friends, acquaintences and relatives, no matter who won the initial scrap.

While the comments here are creative and fun to read, we all know the purpose of hate crime legislation.

To prosecute whites only.

That's what needs to happen. The University thought police have no jurisdiction over hate crimes, assault, battery, attempted murder, etc. Get the "rea;" law involved not a bunch of liberals who can't enforce laws and will refuse to consider hate crimes performed by **preferred** class people.
