There are four other relevant posts that I want to highlight here in case anyone missed them or didn't get pinged. These are a general Terri thread troll alert, an especially thoughtful post about the sincere effort that FReepers are making in Terri's behalf, the Father's Love Letter , and remarks made by Jim Robinson on this issue and reposted here by lonevoice.

This thread serves as a place for posting all new general information and references, along with links following Terri's case, plus information on cable news and talk radio shows dealing with the issue, court cases and press releases. This is also the place to post contact information, prayers and general discussion.

If you have something that qualifies as BREAKING NEWS or FRONT PAGE NEWS, please post it on a separate thread in that category in order to give it maximum exposure and then post a link to the article/thread here so that it will be included in the next update of links. Also, if you post links to articles from original sources and there is also a thread on FR, please link to the FR thread. Many original links become corrupt over time and we want to be able to access the information at will.

There was a tremendous amount of information posted on the previous thread. For anyone who hasn't been following the daily threads, links to relevant posts and information from the previous thread are contained in the body of the present one. I have found that very helpful in trying to find something later. You people are doing a spectacular job of getting information out and also in helping to keep all of us updated here. What a great joint effort. This fight, to me, illustrates beautifully what Free Republic is about and what it means to be a FReeper. Way to go FRiends. Keep up the good work!

I have felt this all along - not to mention the fact (and it's been mentioned by others) that the original $700,000 trust fund, invested even very conservatively in 1993, would have yielded additional major gains. Where is THAT money? I thought Trustees have to provide an annual report to the court (public?) each year regarding what goes in and out of the trust. I assume NGFBHINO is the Trustee, as well as Guardian. And there has to be SOME Broker/Dealer (Merrill Lynch, Raymond James, e.g.) managing the funds in the trust.

Yeah you mmake a most excellent point. I never thought of that. I bet that money was invested so there should be more than the $700,000.

I was helping SweetLiberty run down a wierd item and visited a web site that had some good information about Terri however the rest of the site was wacko.
I'll post that info in the next post.

Virtually every one of us has been interested in money being a motive for what is motivating Michael HINO (Husband In Name Only).

I found this on another web site, which I won't reference because the rest of the web site that is Not terri related is wacko. I can't vouch for the information but here it is.

Question 3: Where Did Terri’s Malpractice Award Money Go?

As mentioned, in November1993, Michael Schiavo’s guardianship was challenged for his actions when he instructed Terri’s caretakers not to medicate Terri with antibiotics for a potentially fatal infection. This legal charge culminated with a February 1994 Judge Pennock hearing in which Michael Schiavo was exonerated and his guardianship remained intact. The court permitted Michael Schiavo to withdraw money from Terri’s medical fund to reimburse his legal expenses.

May 1998, Michael Schiavo hires attorney George Felos to petition the court to have Terri’s feeding terminated. Subsequently, the court has permitted Michael Schiavo to withdraw money from Terri’s medical fund to reimburse his legal expenses in his efforts to have Terri die.

Note: In the ensuing (9) years since the 1992 jury malpractice award, Michael Schiavo has used Terri’s medical fund money in his pursuit of Terri’s death and to defend his guardianship role. The bulk of the money has gone for legal fees. Although Terri’s medical fund is sealed; there are court transactions available for public inspection.

Question 4: How Much is Remaining in Terri’s Medical Fund?

The bleeding of money from Terri’s medical fund is far from over. The primary attorneys Michael Schiavo has used in his quest to end Terri’s life, Attorney Deborah Bushnell and Attorney George Felos, have not been compensated for their services since their last invoice – September 2001.

We estimate that Terri's account balance is now less than $300,000. We expect Attorney Deborah Bushnell and Attorney George Felos to invoice over $90,000 to bring their legal fees current. We believe that after legal fees are paid the balance in Terri’s fund, as of February 28, 2002, will be around $200,000.

Also, there is no telling the future amount Attorney George Felos will charge Terri, via Michael Schiavo, for his legal endeavors. On February 22, 2002, in response to the attorney’s February 7, 2002 appeal, the Florida Supreme Court issued a stay to the 2nd District Appellate Court’s order calling for Terri’s neurological examinations. The Florida Supreme Court is presently reviewing their posture regarding Terri’s case.

Should the Florida Supreme Court take jurisdiction, Attorney George Felos will then have the opportunity to totally deplete the entire assets in Terri’s medical fund.
