John Loftus now on Batchelor Alexander WABC reports: A student of Nuclear Engineering at McMaster University Hamilton, Ontario. has disappeared along with 180 pounds of nuclear waste stolen from the university's nuclear reactor. This happened several months ago but an alert has been ordered tonight in the USA and Canada. His name is ? Adnan al-ShoukriJumai, 27 years old, a Saudi national. A search is underway. The fear is that they may hijack a cargo plane in Canada. I hope to provide further details later on this thread.

"and ottawa?"
It'd be a waste of a good nuke. No one would know for months that it was gone.

This happened several months ago
Thanks for the timely reporting. 180 pounds stolen but it's no big deal until 3 months later.

You may or may not know the answer to my question: what are those smoke lines at the left of the picture? I always wondered what they were since I first saw those blasts as a kid.

Not a very happy thing to read before turning in for the night, is it? From everything I've been reading in the past few days on FR, it sure does sound like something may be brewing...hope it gets stopped. I must admit I am getting a bit nervous.
To: Allan
180 pounds of nuclear material missing in Canada Don't be alarmed.
I'm sure there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for this.

Missing? Bull $hit. Our corrupt "Mexico of the north" neighbors sold it.
Many Canadians think it they are touchy feely nice to the evil ones in the world they will be left alone. So did Chambelain(sp) of Britian in the 1930's.

They are smoke rockets launched before detonation. They provide a visual reference to the blast shock wave.

loftus talked about that. said canada had been denying it for a long time, then attributed the "mistake" to an extra space in his name that their computers missed. loftus said that KSM has talked to us about this guy.

A couple of observations on your post:
1) Nuclear waste can't cause a nuclear explosion.
2) Armchair war criminals have posted their cool little pics of nuclear explosions and suggesting Mecca and Medina be nuked, oh, geez, I don't know, several thousand times on FR. It sorta stopped being original or interesting or cool somewhere around the first time it was done.
3) Of course, I suspect this is beyond your limited reasoning ability, but I would expect that Bin Laden would be quite thrilled with the US attacking Mecca or Medina in any way, shape, or form.

Are you sure that an alert has really just been issued tonight or is this sloppy radio hype of the old story that's already been out there?

Didn't load the pic but at atmospheric tests rockets were simultaneously launched just slightly before detonation at known distances from the bomb. Later, on film, these could show where the shockwave was at X fractions of a second after detonation. Just more data.

WOW, I never knew that.

Frankly, no.. bin laden would not want the USA to destroy mecca/medina. in fact, that's his worst nightmare and *the* reason that ramzi said they didn't want to attack nuclear power plants, because things would go 'out of control'.
If we destroyed the islamic 'holy' centers, the entire culture would fall and cease to be a threat.
We win, they lose.
Get it?

He spells his name the way my two year old did 30 years ago on my IBM Selectric II: Adnan al-ShoukriJumai.
Adnan wins the Darwin award for the world's longest stupid freakin name on the planet. BTW, try putting that name's salutation through your spell checker.
