I wish I could afford a housekeeper. Must be nice. When the democrats in Schwarzenegger's administration get through with us, we'll be lucky if we can afford to eat.

People making excuses for Willie Brown and Teddy Kennedy being involved in our new governor's agenda. I can't believe this is FreeRepublic.com. You dont know that.
Having capable people on staff, does NOT mean that they are part of one's agenda. If your agenda is to get gas for your car, does it hurt if your gas attendant is a Liberal? Is your gas going to be weaker?
Did you just switch to decaf, or something?

Saundra, I am hoping you will give Schwarzenegger a chance. He's got a lot of support in CA and from around the country. We are pulling for him and for you all. I hope you move past these differences with him and find ways to support him. He is not the enemy. Suck it up, girl.

They screwed themselves.
Even Simon would have been better than Gay or Schwarzenegger.

No. When it comes to dealing in sewage, nobody can beat the Dems.

That, and Willie Green on the transition team? That is soooo wrong. Just because the guy has some experience, doens't mean he should be used. I mean, a transition would certainly go smoother if he had just grabbed a bunch of homeless people off the street - they'd get him up and running as an administration in no time...

Long-time Schwarzenegger friend and political co-worker Democrat Bonnie Reiss, who joined his campaign last month, has long been an influential, highly effective leader of Hollywoods left-wing environmentalists, working with Norman Lear before forming her own organization promoting a broadly anti-market, anti-private property political agenda. Priceless. By the way, I know Tom Hudson; a great guy!!!

I know. It's so horrible that a governor would choose a senior advisor whom he has known for a long time and apparently trusts, when he could have picked someone whom he knows little about. That would have been better for California, no doubt about that. You mean she hasn't convinced you she told you so and Gray Davis should just stay in office ?

I don't even like Arnold, but I like whiny paranoia even less.

Make up your minds already. Californians voted in a Fiscal COnservative/Social Liberal, and now ya all are whining because you got exactly what you voted for. Go figure I didn't vote for him. I'm hoping he does some good. there are some mixed signs. He has some good people on staff, though this one is one of the "mixed" signs. Green doesn't mix well with Red, White, and Blue.

I recall Willie Brown singlehandedly slapping Republicans around with one hand tied behind his back. Politics is sport as much as theater, and I would rather have a proven WINNER on my team, then a group of nobodies who would get eaten alive seasoned partisans on the other side.

I can understand that. However, I'd rather have an advisor I knew and trusted, even if I didn't agree 100% with them, rather than someone I didn't know, and had no idea what agendas they may have.
Call me crazy ;0)

You may disagree with Saundra Duffy's opinion, but she has proven herself to be of great value here at FR and deserves more respect than what you have given with your flippant remarks.

Yeah. And he does have experience, so a transition team is a good place for him, AND for California. He helps get the adminsitration in place smoothly, and then he's done. While I don't like Willie, I can see how he'd be useful in that regard.
If he gets appointed to a permanent position when the transition is over, then I'd be more concerned.
