Unchained Melody
Oh, my love, my darling,
I've hungered for your touch a long,
lonely time. Time goes by so slowly
and time can do so much.
Are you still mine?
I need your love.
I need your love.
God speed your love to me.
Lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea,
to the open arms of the sea.
Lonely rivers sigh, wait for me,
wait for me.
I'll be coming home, wait for me.
Oh, my love, my darling,
I've hungered for your touch a long
lonely time. Time, goes by so slowly,
and time can do so much,
Are you still mine?
I need your love.
I need your love.
God speed your love, to me.

I have been to three of them. Fountain Valley, Lakewood, and Houston, down by NASA.
One of them got in a scuffle with a rowdy customer one night at the Fountain Valley Hop, and was injured real bad. I cannot remember which one.

I took a date to the one in Fountain Valley one night after an Angels' game and we were surprised to see Bo Diddley performing there. I have no idea why but there was probably only about 50 people in the place. It was an incredible performance. Bo talked, shook hands, and posed for pictures with anyone who asked.
If I'd only had a camera.

There was a great Country&Western club, about three blocks from the Hop on Brookhurst. I think it was called The Brass Rail. I was in Nashville on business in the mid 90's and went to Printers Alley one night. The guy that played in Fountain Valley was playing in a club there.

Printer's Alley is a great place.
My wife and I honeymooned in Nashville in April of '93. I guess you could say we like Country music. I remember Printer's Alley as being wild and full of drunks. I thought that rather odd at the time as they are/were really promoting the place. It was fun anyway.

They used to own a restaurant in Huntington Beach or Fountain Valley and perform there sometimes. The Hop in Fountain Valley.

What a shame. An angelic voice.
Am watching the CMAs now ... a MUCH different view of music than, say, MTV. :-)

The song that Ronnie redid her chorus for was, "Take Me Home Tonight," by Eddie Money, I think...?

>> Shindig <<
Wasn't that shot at Channel 9, on the old Paramount lot on Melrose next to the late-great Nickodell? Sam Riddell or somebody like that?
