Purported al Qaeda Operative threatens Afghanistan and Says,

 "Let the Days Show You the Words Coming True." 

 


A self-proclaimed Taliban al Qaida operative who claims to have recently returned from Afghanistan and Iraq, has some terrifying threats about the group’s intentions for Afghanis posted on an internet site “diary.”


 


Among other comments, Daleel Almojahid writes, "We also assure you and send you our coming news that we will start killing all the Loya Jerga Council (a traditional assembly of tribal representatives) that is due to start elections. We have sent them all messages warning them that if any of them show up in the elections they will be killed directly on our hands."


 


In response to a question asking for some proof of his claims, Almojahid (who wrote many of his Nov. comments using the computer system at the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates) responded by e- mail that he was unable to give any information about the exact level of his involvement with the al Qaeda.


 


Almojahid wrote, “You just have to read what I write and let the days show you the words coming true. About where I was I can tell you that I have been on the move for two weeks … I can tell you that I was in Afghanistan and Iraq and the situation there is more than great. You don’t understand the amount of lying your government is producing!  The amount of death and captured is above all your expectation and to tell you the truth it was above my expectation but thank God things are moving really well.”  


 


Almojahid’s web “diary” spans Thurs. Nov. 20 through Tues. Nov. 25 2003. It is headlined “Mojahideen news directly from Afghanistan.” The first entry for Thursday reads (sic), “Mojahideen attacked military base in Asad Abad and 13 American pigs were killed.” Another entry for the same day reads “Mojahideen killed in an Islamic way of slaughtering two undercover Afghans working for the American intelligence after they confessed.”


 


Three entries for Fri. Nov. 21 read (sic), “The mojahideen attacked the patrolling convoy near ghandahaar airport killing 20 Americans. The mojahideen attacked a watch base in Dorah and killed more than 18 Americans. The mojahideen attacked the American base in Asad Abaad and burned two camp grounds and killed more than 25 Americans.”   


 


An entry for Sun. Nov.23 reads (sic), “The mojahideen attacked a convoy that was searching for the mojahideen and bombarded them with rockets and fire arm so heavy that led to the killing of every one on board and more than 52 Americans were killed in the attack. This attack came as a slap to the Americans in their face.”


 


An entry for Mon.Nov. 24 reads (sic), “The mojahideen with the hand of god were capable in taking down one of the most strongest choppers that the Americans use, there are only two of these choppers in the world as they are building more of them at this time, its called MH53J, and is known to have the ability to avoid any rockets shot at it. But the mojahideen are fighting in the name of god and god has his hands to bring it down. Alaah akbaar (I promise you pictures of this soon.”


 


Almojahid writes that those are only some of the operations in the last month. He says he plans to update his readers with the rest of the news in the days to come. He finishes off his log by writing, “Pray for the mojahideen they are teaching the Americans and who ever comes along with them lessons in fighting, the Americans are not sleeping at night at all or in the morning and we will make sure to keep them up 24 hours a day. The operations are extremely successful thanks to god for his hands are moving with the mojahideen where ever they move.”


 


Almojahid says if his readers are wondering why they are no hearing this news from other means it is because “America is controlling all the media outlets so it is very hard for the mojahideen to spread their news but in the hands of god we will try our best to do so and give the people what they deserve to know.”


 


Almojahid continues to use Yahoo groups and Yahoo as a source to communicate with his followers. After Yahoo recently suspended Almojahid’s account he quickly opened up another one by adding the number “1” after his name.


 


Although Almojahid (who is also known as Salaah Aldeen) is still apparently in the United Arab Emirates, he is not using the computer system at the American University of Sharjah anymore. He appears to be using the Emirates Telecommunication Corp. located in Dubai in the UAE.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "BAGHDAD — The leader of a militant cell mounting attacks on U.S. forces from its Baghdad neighborhood says groups like his operate with little supervision from Ba'athist leaders but receive occasional help from outsiders who may be al Qaeda operatives.
    He also said his group, which came together in reaction to the American presence in the country, does not seek the return of Saddam Hussein. If the despised dictator were to return, "We will fight him, too."
    The cell leader agreed to a series of four interviews in mid- and late-November using the pseudonym Abu Mujahid. Unlike many who offer such interviews, he did not ask to be paid for it.
    Each of the meetings was held after nightfall, in a public place, the location and timing of which was set at the last moment. He demanded there be no use of a satellite telephone — from which a location could be traced — or of cameras or recording devices.
    Challenged to prove he was really the head of a resistance cell that mounts violent attacks on American troops, Abu Mujahid looked at his watch and said, "Wait 15 minutes."
    Sixteen minutes later, four mortar rounds fired from a southwestern Baghdad neighborhood flew overhead, landing in the compound of the U.S.-led Provisional Authority.
    "God willing, we hit something this time," said Abu Mujahid, smiling wryly. "Our mortars are very inaccurate. We cannot wait to aim them, so we use timers.""

WASHINGTON (AFX) - Three leading associates of Osama bin Laden last month told sources connected to fugitive Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omarthat the al-Qaeda network will be shifting most of its operations to a new front in Iraq, Newsweek magazine reported.
The article, published today, says the message was delivered to Mullah Omar at a secret meeting in Afghanistan -- held during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

It adds that Mullah Omar was informed of al-Qaeda plans to reduce by half its 3 mln usd monthly contribution to Afghan anti-government groups.

The shift of the main theater of operation has been ordered by bin Laden because both he and his top lieutenants see a greater opportunity to target Americans and their allies in Iraq and neighbouring countries such as Turkey, Newsweek alleges.

Bin Laden believes that Iraq is becoming the perfect battlefield to fight the "American crusaders" and that the Iraqi insurgency has been "100 percent successful so far," the report says, quoting a Taliban participant who attended the meeting and who goes by the nom de guerre Sharafullah.

However, the report adds that Mullah Omar is dismayed by the apparent re-direction of al-Qaeda forces.

Nevertheless, bin Laden's representatives have advised Taliban supporters to work to unite the Afghan resistance.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "December 9, 2003 -- CHISINAU, Moldova - Dozens of rockets outfitted with so-called "dirty bombs" are missing in a breakaway region of the former Soviet republic of Moldova, an expert said yesterday.

Oazu Nantoi, a political analyst at the nongovernmental Institute for Policy Studies in Chisinau, said he had seen photocopies of Russian military documents that revealed at least 38 dirty-bomb warheads had disappeared from a storage depot near the Trans-Dniester Tiraspol military airport.

Dirty bombs do not make a nuclear explosion, but include radioactive material that is dispersed by the bomb's explosion.

The warheads were designed to be carried on a small, thin rocket, known as the Alazan, which was originally created to destroy hail clouds.

But the military records show that the warheads were packed with radioactive material - making them the world's first surface-to-surface dirty-bomb weapons."
