Come on in, the doors are open! It's another Military Monday, so please join us as we honor our Active Military and Veterans.

This was a rough weekend for Mrs. ladtx and me. We knew our middle son Jeff was to be in transit from Mosul to Baghdad then on to Kuwait for an R&R trip home to arrive here tomorrow. After hearing about the Chinook shoot down yesterday morning we sat through the whole day waiting on word from him. Then, finally late yesterday afternoon we got word from his girl friend that he had called her and he was safe at the Baghdad airport. I think we aged another 10 years yesterday.
We were relieved but couldn't be happy because we knew there are other families somewhere whose fathers, sons, husbands, wives, or daughters won't be coming home and our hearts go out to them. We prayed for them.
Since it is Military Monday I'll keep up my rememberance of my comrades from another war.
In memory of my fellow Vietnam helicopter pilots who were killed in that war the following were lost on NOV 3. God bless them all.
1967 1LT James E. Pavlicek Jr. -- B/4 AVN 4 INF, Age 25, Hereford, Texas
1967 WO1 David E. Thomas -- B/4 AVN 4 INF, Age 25, Sedalia, Missouri
1969 WO1 Kenneth R. Leach -- B/25 AVN 25 INF, Age 28, Hemet, California
In memory of these 3 pilots who died in 2 different incidents 2 years apart, they all flew the same type of aircraft, the UH-1C. They were all gun-pilots. Gun-pilots saved my bacon more than once. Salute guys.
The Bell Helicopter UH-1C Gunship.
SCOUTS OUT!
