Celebrations Erupt Across Arab World after US Chopper Crash
Associated Press ^ | November 2, 2003 | nwrep

Cairo, Egypt-AP -- There are celebrations reported across the Arab world, after the news of more American casualties in Iraq.

Resistance to the occupation is applauded by some who see it as proof that Iraqis weren't totally humiliated by the relative ease of the U-S-led coalition's toppling of Saddam Hussein.

Many Arabs had warned an invasion of Iraq could drag the region into chaos. In Damascus today, foreign ministers from countries bordering Iraq again called on the U-S to restore order in that country.

O'Reilly might be speaking of Rita Cosby getting it wrong about the Supreme Court Decision. It took a lot of reading and some law knowledge to figure out what the decision meant and she looked silly, trying to be first. They were all out on the steps of the SC,trying to figure it out.

I understand your rage, and believe me, it is terribly tempting to just say "nuke em all."

But we have to show that we are better than the scumbags we are fighting. If we just launch nukes at whoever threatens us, we'll be committing genocide on a scale unseen to man. I really don't want the Americans going down in history as having wiped out half the earth. You think that we are just killing terrorists if we go in blazing, but we are killing women, children, and the elderly. Some of them may be future leaders of the new Islam, Arabs, and the Middle East. Worse, the moderates willl be saying, "Hey those Mullahs are right all along!" and the rank of our enemies would multiply.

Believe me when I say "there are moderates" and "not all muslims want to kill americans and try to subjugate the world". I have Islamic friends who don't at all celebrate the attacks and one personaaly said that "Bin Laden is going to hell."

You ask "where are the moderates, good muslims, and arabs?" Well, where are the moderates in Nazi Germany? In Rwanda? Bosnia? Puritan New England? The slave states? The southern states? They are there. In silence and under fire. It is said that Arafat killed more Palestinians than Israelis. Those are our opposition against the UnIslamic fascists. They are there. But the media, in their ongoing efforts to destroy America, portray the fascists as the real face of Islam hoping to get a negative reaction from mainstream America. The next thing you know, hate speech and crime laws, tolerance sessions, and all sorts of PC liberalism BS will emasculate our response, censor conservatives and patriots for being Islamophobes, give the Mullahs free reign, and keep the moderates in dungeons or graves. When you say nuke the Islamic world, you are playing right in to their hands.

About the "opposition" in Iraq, they are 5% of the population and I estimate 6/10 of that 5% are terrorists. They look like a lot because they are noisy murderers. They are drowning out the people clamoring for America to stay.

Just in case you think I'm a terrorist lover, I just wish that I could go back in time and smash in Wahhab's and Qutb's head. No Al-Qaeda. No Fatah, Islamic Jihad, and PLO along with the other idiots in Indonesia, Thailand, Afghanistan, etc.

Kill Ayatollah Khomeni too. No Iranian terrorism.

But we can't...for now. Let the smart bombs and "black operators" do their job. As Bush said, "They are attacking because they are desperate." Pretty soon, the new Iraqi government will try and sentence these maggots.

Now any Freepers willing to take on the task of building a functioning time machine? :)

"O'Reilly might be speaking of Rita Cosby getting it wrong about the Supreme Court Decision"

No, this was the night after the election.
I watched it and remember what he said.
If you recall Drudge bragged days ahead of time he would announce
the VNS polls before the networks.
Drudge did, then FOX was next according to O'Reilly.
Don't forget FOX owns VNS along with CNN, ABC, NBC and CBS
Birds of a feather.

...no doubt a few celebrations erupted among the anti-American left at the DNC.

Boycott Fox News? It's just about the only balanced news source in a sea of left-wing biased "journalism" (and I use that term lightly). They're entitled to make a mistake.

It will just encourage other killers.

No, this among other things encourages killers. Their own media outlets:

Iraqi child crushed by US tank

By Nurah Tape

Sunday 02 November 2003, 22:11 Makka Time, 19:11 GMT

A tank like this one in Abu Ghraib crushed the Iraqi child

A six-year-old Iraqi child has been crushed to death by an American tank.

The incident was said to be reminiscent of scenes caused by the Israeli occupation of Palestine as the child was crushed underneath the tank's tracks.

The tragedy occurred during clashes between US troops and Iraqi civilians in the Abu Ghraib area, on the outskirts of Baghdad on Friday.

Locals said skirmishes developed in the market area of the town twice in three days, and by Sunday night military bulldozers had demolished stalls set up near the roadway

Reports indicate that up to 1000 civilians were protesting the occupying forces’ imprisonment of Iraqis at the Abu Ghraib prison, when fighting broke out near the market place and police station on Friday.

Up to 14 Iraqi civilians were killed and five wounded. One Iraqi policeman is also reported killed. There were more casualties the following day.

It is not clear how the fighting on Friday, which lasted more than seven hours, began. However, it is understood armoured tanks, Bradley fighting vehicles, mechanised and airborne infantry joined in the battle. This, after a coalition decision was made to turn the crowd back.

The crowd began burning tyres and waved religious banners, including one reading: “Ramadan makes you closer to God”.

The conflict escalated after people in the crowd fired mortars at the police station.

However, it is unlikely the American media will report the death of the child since the US m ilitary only releases figures of US casualties and rarely keeps records of Iraqi occupation deaths

A coalition press office spokeswoman, could not confirm the incident, except to say that two US soldiers were wounded in a mortar attack at the Abu Ghraib police station.

“We do not provide information on Iraqi casualties”, the spokeswoman told Aljazeera.net.

However the American-based New Trend Magazine quoted a report by the Washington-based NPR about how the child had been killed by the US tank.

"First reports indicated that these were clashes between civilians and US troops somewhat like the Intifada in Palestine. During the demonstrations a US tank crushed a six-year-old Iraqi child," reported NTM.

Trigger-happy

CNN reported that 14 Iraqi civilians were killed when US troops opened fire on demonstrators. However the following day, on November 1, the US media widely reported that the 14 were killed while trying to attack US troops, added NTM.

Centcom officer, Sergeant Major Louis Madson, said it was “another terrible tragedy”, but could not confirm whether the child crushed by a tank was amongst the 14 casualties.

CAIR spokesperson Ibrahim Hooper, said he deplored the incident, saying numerous incidents of “trigger-happy soldiers” cannot go unnoticed.

Speaking to Aljazeera.net, Hooper said “such action by occupying forces creates tremendous resentment that damages any possibility for peace in the region”.

He added that the action by US troops can only hurt the situation and not help the Iraqi people.

CAIR is the Council on American-Islamic Relations and is a critic of the occupation of Iraq. It's website is www.cair-net.org

Yes. Ibrahim Hoopercrit is a terorist of the Wahhab clan, the same group that gave us the Taliban and the incredibly corrupt and dictatorial Saudi regime.

CAIR, AMC, and one other organization in the US is a front for the Al Qaeda and Jihadi war mongers.

Food for thought.
While there are many good people at FOX their
overall coverage of news is below average at best.
The Kobe's and Scott's of the world get more coverage than our heroes in the military do.
Their is a reason why the Kobe and Scott coverage is so much.
It's to get the USA to forget what a good job the Commander-in-Chief and military is doing.
Watch less and less good military stories on FOX as Election '04 gets closer.

CAIR the AMC and their ilk don't represent ISlam. Their links to terror have been exposed by a moderate Mullah.

Maybe moderate's not the right term: totally pro-America and ISrael. Calls Yasser a gangster.
