Perennially overrated Miami Hurricanes exposed as frauds tonight(as expected)
espn and various security cameras | 11/01/03 | Luther Campbell, poor mistreated Sapp, and the Florida Dept of Corrections

Posted on 11/01/2003 8:24:37 PM PST by Diddle E. Squat

Got their butts kicked by Virginia Tech(themselves recently exposed as overrated) 31-7. That should shut up for a few days the orange blowhard bandwagoning fullofthemselves thugimage rapcrap pullyourpantsup snoopyappiyap loudmouth elements of the Cane fans.

OBTW, nice sore loser cheap shots by the Miami bench late in the game after the interception. Spare me the baloney about how this is the "new" "cleaned up" Miami. They sure looked like the heavily penalized, trash talking, thuggish, gang bums of old, mixing it up after practically every play in the final 4 minutes.

Think I'm piling on? Watch media favorite Miami hardly drop in the polls, despite the complete thrashing. Sorry, but I'm tired of the total scam that is the BCS/poll system propping Miami, FSU, Texas(my team), etc. every year with early high rankings and overhype, so that a loss for them is not nearly as hurtful to their title shots as most teams. Its an incestuous false cycle, and thus the same few teams regularly bob around the top 10 and usually are the only ones with a real shot of playing in that totally bogus mythical national championship game.

C'mon, this year only Oklahoma stands out above the crowd, and by no means is it certain that they will go undefeated. There is absolutely no way that we can pick the 2 best teams in the country with any degree of certainty. No matter what the BCS does, it is a sham and a total joke.

"But I bet you dollars to donuts that there are far more in agreement with my thoughts than support Miami."

In other words, you want to use opinions polls to justify your argument that Miami is overrated?

I thought your general argumnent was that opinion polls weren't worth a squat?

Its great. Zook is a good recruiter and I think they'll be ok, even if they arent the best coached team out there.

Man have you ever hit this one right on the mark. These Gators are young, but they're finally starting to get their wits about them. Zook's gotten some really good players to come to Gainesville and it's obvious they go all out for him on the field. But Good God, Zook makes some of the most incredible brain farts on the sideline!

Still, give 'em a year or two, and I think the Gators will be right back on top.

I'm with you. All throughout the 2nd half, the brain dead announcer kept lamenting that Miami was going to have to drop in the rankings, but "they shouldn't be lower than Florida State (who beat Notre Dame 37-0 today), because Miami beat them already". The idiot failed to remember that by that logic, Virginia Tech (with only 1 loss) should be ranked higher than Miami then.

My predicted rankings:
1. Oklahoma (9-0)
2. Southern Cal (because apparently, they hate to be called Southern Cal now) (8-1)
3. Miami (7-1)
4. Florida State (who I think should be #3) (8-1)
5. LSU (8-1)
6. Ohio State (where I think Miami should be) (8-1)
7. Virginia Tech (7-1)
8. Georgia (7-2)
9. Michigan (8-2)
10. Washington State (7-2)
53rd or something. TCU (8-0) (just kidding, I think they were ranked 15 or something this week).

No way! Gotta hope for the BCS to go into chaos if there are two undefeated teams at the end of the year.

Plus you gotta love any organization that calls themselves the "Horned Frogs". :p

LOL, naw, I just like hyperbole when it comes to sports. Sound and fury, but just having fun.

But I do think it is ridiculous that there isn't a playoff.

Oklahoma is the best team in the nation right now. They probably will go undefeated and be the crowned the champion.

USC is the next best team, and is capable of beating OU with a few breaks.

That's the way the season could and should end up.

Miami has some great players, but most of us saw this loss coming a mile away.

How 'bout them hogs? 7 OT's and they win. They tied their own record! Maybe now they can end up at least 8-4. Woooo Pig!

Boy you sure had to wait a long time to post this :)

Certainly, real Canes fans understood that this team was not as good as it was the past three years. Close calls to the Gators and WVU made that abundantly clear.

You sound like a small, bitter man, but I like you non-sports posts, so I'll quite right there!

Hokies kicked some major a$$ today, they deserve alot of credit.

I had the displeasure of crossing traks with a few Miami students while stationed in South Fla. They must have a required orentation course called Jerkology 101.

Thanks for posting. My Huskers lost today :( , but watching the godless, outlaw Miami Hurricanes get their behinds handed to them tonight definitely made me feel a little better.

To be honest, Miami probably should have lost once or twice already this year. They have been such an overrated team this year. And a pain in the neck to boot. Bunch of trash-talking primadonnas. Good riddance.

Without a playoff, its all just figure skating and beauty pagents.

Yep, Miami was so highly touted and some said they should have been #1, and yet VT had no problems at all.

I was surprised UT beat Nebraska - I really figured Nebraska would beat them, but it looks like Nebraska is as overrated as UT was.

The sad thing, the ESPN commentators saying how Miami should still be ranked higher than VT because of West Virginia, I was like "what the **** did I just hear?". WV almost beat Miami if I remember correctly. If VT beat Miami and beat them badly, they are a better team than Miami, period.

A lot of coaches are going to be upset, since there really are about half a dozen teams that deserve to play OU. OU will steamroll them all, but there are about half a dozen that deserve it.

Hopefully this will make a better case for getting some kind of playoffs. USC has ever right, as do several other teams, to play for a national championship, and it's going to come down to a popularity contest.

What is with Arkansas and these incredible overtime games??? Ole Miss-Arkansas, Alabama-Arkansas, and now Kentucky-Arkansas. What's in the water down there?

Are there many bigger jerks in college football than Kellen Winslow, Jr? Jeez, the guy is an a-hole.

So much for his paps wanting him to go to a school with more black coaches--at least Washington doesn't seem to have those kinds of players(onfield, at least)
